I would prefer that Saint pick a QB for his want list that no one else has heard of or wants. Leave the better prospects alone so maybe we will get one of them.

In all fairness, nobody in this thread knew who Austin Allen was when I first posted about him. I found him by accident and watched his film.

Scout story on A-Day visitors:

quote:

A solid group of prospects are visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend. Several players are not traveling to the Capstone due to other spring games, ACT testing this weekend, track meets, and high school proms.

Robert Nkemdiche and Rueben Foster will not visit this weekend. Both have prom.

Robert Foster, five-star wide receiver and the nation's No. 3 overall prospect from Monaco-Central Valley, Pa., is scheduled to visit. Foster has offers from across the country. He became immediately interested in the Tide when they extended an offer. His interest in the national champs will likely increase after the weekend visit.

DeMarcus Walker, four-star defensive end from Jacksonville-Sandalwood, Fla., will return to Tuscaloosa. Walker attended the Tide’s second Junior Day and went away very impressed. Alabama, Clemson and Florida are considered the frontrunners for his commitment.

The coaching staff will welcome a trio of quarterbacks on campus this weekend which includes Riley Ferguson, from Matthews-Butler, N.C., Mitch Trubisky, from Mentor, Ohio, and Conner Mitch, from Raleigh-Wakefield, N.C.

Deon Johnson, four-star wide receiver from Spanish Fort, Ala., has an offer from Alabama. He plans on making an early decision. His head coach, Mark Freeman, told me to expect a decision before the summer. He will visit with teammate, Jonathan Cook.

Walker Jones, linebacker from Cordova-Evangelical Christian, Tenn., is on the list of visitors. Jones, the younger brother of Barrett and Harrison, has snagged several offers including one from Alabama. He plans on waiting until after the summer to make a decision.

A couple of players who may visit this weekend include Anthony Averett, cornerback from Woodbury, N.J., and Alvin Kamara, four-star running back from Norcross, Ga.

Averett has Alabama No. 1 on his list of favorites. He recently said he will attend A-Day.

Kamara spent last week in Tuscaloosa and said he would return for the A-Day game. He is considering a visit to Georgia instead.

A few of the state’s top underclassmen will visit including Bo Scarborough, running back from Tuscaloosa-Northridge and E.J. Moss, quarterback from Ashville. Both have early offers from the Alabama.

Leonard Fournette is the No. 1 player in Louisiana for 2014. The elite running back is scheduled to visit Tuscaloosa this weekend. Alabama and LSU are considered the top two schools on his list.

Alabama welcomes several of their signees on campus this weekend including Landon Collins, Kenyan Drake, Reggie Ragland, Denzel Devall, Tyler Hayes, Caleb Gulledge, Darren Lake, Geno Smith, Dalvin Tomlinson, Kurt Freitag, Adam Griffith, Alec Morris and Korren Kirven.

Several of the Tide’s 2013 commitments are also expected on campus. The players who have confirmed include Altee Tenpenny, Ardarius Stewart, Raheem Falkins, Bradley Bozeman, Tyren Jones and Grant Hill.

This has been passed on to me:

Fort Mill (S.C.) punter Worth Gregory had planned to attend South Carolina as a preferred walk-on and had "committed" to the South Carolina coaches. However, he was recently contacted by Alabama assistant Bobby Williams and has decided to head to Tuscaloosa instead. He will be a preferred walk-on and plans to enroll this summer. He's a 6-foot-4, 200-pound kid with a nice leg.

I like my punters to be able to lay licks, and have no ACL's.

I was sitting next to some dude at the tooth one night, and he pointed to the 44 jersey and asked me if I knew who's it was. Told him no. Then he chugged a pitcher of beer, and told me it was the guy who just chugged a pitcher. He became my hero that night.

Sweet!! Ohio State fans won't be happy though as Foster is a huge target of theirs that they are convinced they will get.

Major program with a new coaching staff that can promise the world. We saw it at Florida State the last two years. We have seen it at Texas A&M with Sumlin. Michigan is doing it with Hoke. O'Brien can also tap into that "I coach Brady and Hernandez" bullshite.
