That's good. It's been said that our staff is very high on him.

Hopefully mike make sure jr is on top of it in class.

I think Al Golden will hang onto Thomas so I won't get to excited.

The Staff really likes Thomas and have made him a priority.

That said, Mama wants him home, which is always hard to overcome...

ETA: And we are now the longest thread in the SECrb's history.

Andrew Bone's new Top 30 for the state of Alabama:

quote:

The initial Top 25 was released in February and updated again in March. The rankings are now expanded to the Top 30 prospects. The list will increase by 10 players each month until July when 'Bone's Best: Top 60' is released.

Bone's Best:
1. Reuben Foster, linebacker, Auburn
2. Dee Liner, defensive end, Muscle Shoals
3. O.J. Howard, tight end, Autauga Academy
4. Ardarius Stewart, athlete, Fultondale
5. Grant Hill, offensive tackle, Huntsville
6. Austin Golson, offensive tackle, Prattville
7. Jason Smith, quarterback, McGill-Toolen
8. Earnest Robinson, wide receiver, Pinson Valley
9. Jeremy Johnson, quarterback, Montgomery-Carver
10. Deon Johnson, wide receiver, Spanish Fort
11. Rod Crayton, defensive tackle, Dadeville
12. Bradley Bozeman, offensive tackle, Handley
13. Kamryn Melton, cornerback, Dothan
14. Cameron Toney, linebacker, Huntsville
15. Jarren Johnson, wide receiver, Jackson
16. DeAndre Woods, wide receiver, Clay-Chalkville
17. Cameron Luper, athlete, Auburn
18. Marquez White, cornerback, Dothan-Northview
19. Ulric Jones, defensive lineman, Oxford
20. Nate Andrews, wide receiver, Fairhope
21. Carl Lee, wide receiver, McGill-Toolen
22. Jonathan Ford, running back, New Hope
23. James Cox, wide receiver, Northridge
24. Jordan Huff, running back, St. Paul’s
25. T.J. McCollum, safety, Clay-Chalkville
26. B.J. Hammond, wide receiver, Gadsden City
27. Rashawn Smith, outside linebacker, Florence
28. Jordan Howard, running back, Gardendale
29. Tevin Watters, athlete, Thomasville
30. Jonathan Cook, cornerback, Spanish Fort

Change at the top
The nation's No. 2 overall prospect, Reuben Foster, transferred from LaGrange-Troup County, Ga., to Auburn High School. The five-star linebacker takes the the No. 1 slot in Alabama.

The next six players in the state remained the same. Earnest Robinson, four-star wide receiver and Auburn commitment from Pinson Valley, did move ahead of Jeremy Johnson, four-star quarterback from Montgomery-Carver. Kamryn Melton, three-star cornerback and Auburn commitment from Dothan, moved up a spot from No. 14 to No. 13.

New top back
Jonathan Ford, running back from New Hope, takes the top back in the state. Ford’s recruitment has picked up tremendously with scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Jordan Huff will have a chance to regain the No. 1 spot once we see how he has recovered from the season ending knee injury.

Cracks Top 25
T.J. McCollum, safety from Clay-Chalkville, is on the rise. He is physically one of the most impressive prospects in the state. Last year was his first season playing safety after spending his sophomore year at receiver. McCollum has an offer from Mississippi State.

Abundance
There are plenty of wide receivers in the state, and several schools from across the country have taken notice. There are 10 receivers who are currently ranked among the Top 30 prospects in Alabama.

Stay tuned as the state rankings will expand to the Top 40 in May. Who's next?

Bone's Weekly Q&A:

quote:

Allen: AB give us 3 names who you think one will commit at A day

Andrew Bone: Ha, hard to say one name who will commit. If Alvin Kamara decides to visit Alabama this weekend keep your ears open. DeMarcus Walker is also very high on Alabama. Tide made up significant ground a few weeks ago. He will attend A-Day.

Allen: Surprised Fulwood commited to gators this early

Andrew Bone: Very surprised

Allen: better chance with arky TE with the firing

Andrew Bone: It doesn't hurt the Tide's chances. I am sure he will wait to see who Arkansas hires.

Allen: Smart to arky--your gut says

Andrew Bone: No.

tidefanforever69: does petrino firing give bama an in on any of their recruits?

Andrew Bone: There aren't many recruits Alabama has to battle Arkansas for unless they are home grown. Altee Tenpenny is an Alabama commitment who has visited Arkansas recently. He is also visiting the Razorbacks with his coach Friday. He'll travel to Tuscaloosa for the Tide's A-Day game.

Allen: is Foster WR going to be at A day

Andrew Bone: He said a few weeks ago he planned to attend A-Day. I haven't heard anything new.

GT: Is Flowers getting a job at Auburn? I have a very bad feeling about Foster

Andrew Bone: I do not know. LaGrange is very close to Auburn. Foster wanted to transfer schools, and this ended up being his best shot. I don't think it has anything to do with Auburn University.

Allen: does the NC QB have an offer subjec to camp

Andrew Bone: Yes, I believe so. I don't think he can commit at A-Day, but that may change.

Bama man: What about Bateman and trubisky from Ohio?

Andrew Bone: I actually like Bama's chances with Bateman after seeing his comments following the visit. I am not going to say Bama lands him, but of all the schools he visited in the South last week I think Alabama has the best chance to land him.

tidefanforever69: do you think saban's requirement to see qb's in camp before offering hurts bama with alot of qb's?

Andrew Bone: Not necessarily...It's not all Qbs who have to wait until camp to commit. Winston or Kiel could have committed before camp. On the flip side... Alec Morris attended camp and out performed other highly rated QBs who had previously received verbal offers from the staff.

Allen: if AJ throws it every game next year like NC-do we move up in the eyes of the top QBs

Andrew Bone: I think so. National QBs are already very interested in Alabama. They probably do want to see them throw the ball more. I think some players are more concerned about competing for championships. Alabama gives them that opportunity.

Allen: remember the clemson DE ate Love up at the UA game--Love never made it like projected

Andrew Bone: Love dominated every practice. Trust me I was there. DaQuan Bowers beat him in the game. There aren't a lot of players like Bowers out there. Love is just one who didn't live up to his potential. He was a four-star heading into the Under Armour game. The way he performed all week against the best competition in the country earned him five-star status.

tidefanforever69: if saban doesn't get any top db's will he hit juco's for them, any top db's in juco this year?

Andrew Bone: It's possible. I think they really want to get some HS cornerbacks in this class. Langley is still a possibly even though UGA leads right now. Alabama is among the favorites for Mackensie Alexander. More prospects will emerge this spring and summer. Keep in mind players like Christion Jones, Darren Lake, weren't offered until they attended camp before their senior year.

crimsoncody: What WR'S does Bama have the best chance of landing?

Andrew Bone: Hard to say right now. Most of the guys they are recruiting are national guys. It's not necessarily a "major position of need" this year. If they can get someone like Robert Foster or Derrick Griffin on campus you never know. Deon Johnson remains high on the board.

Allen: EJ Moss Aub or BAMA

Andrew Bone: Bama

Roger: I work at Oxford ...Foster Mom picked up paperwork last week to transfer here what happened between then and today? As of Monday night he called staff saying be here today

Andrew Bone: I am not sure what happened. He told me today that he kept trying to decide where he was going and last night decided for Auburn.

BC: RK or Clowney...who is better out of high school?

Andrew Bone: IMO Robert Nkemdiche without a doubt. He has a wide range. Clowney was always an outside edge type guy. Nkemdiche can pretty much play any position on the field....and be good at it.

tidefanforever69: we still get dkimeche on may 18 bone?

Andrew Bone: Nkemdiche still plans on making his decision on that date. It wouldn't surprise me though if he pushes his commitment date back. He is still set though for that date. I like Alabama's chances.

GT: Kind of worried about our OL next year. What's your take on the guy's we signed in Feb?

Andrew Bone: I think Alabama signed some very high quality players on the OL. Brandon Hill has a very good chance to become a star. I like Alabama's OL class a lot.

Captain Jim: I hear Foster's ex coach is going to be offered a coaching job at Auburn High

Andrew Bone: If that's true I am sure that's the reason Foster went to Auburn. I will speak with Auburn head coach Tim Carter hopefully tomorrow.

bamafanforlife72: Has Laremy Tunsil visited and if not, do we expect a visit from him?

Andrew Bone: He has not visited. He said he will visit at some point. UF leads followed by UGA.

BC: what sets Brenneman apart from OJ Howard...does he have a better skill set?

Andrew Bone: I think it's the fact he is more of a pure tight end recruit. It's the position he has always played. IMO he is a better route runner, better blocker. He doesn't come close to Howard's athleticism, speed and agility.

Allen: Beckwith-lsu-BAMA

Andrew Bone: I think Alabama is the team to beat since his visit to Tuscaloosa. LSU can make up ground especially being the in-state school. However if I had to pick right now... I think it's Alabama.

Allen: we going to sign the next Jones brother

Andrew Bone: Yes.. I believe so.

Allen: which spring game for Montravious

Andrew Bone: I think he is going to UGA

Bama man: What about Alvin kamara

Andrew Bone: Alabama is probably in the lead right now for Kamara. He is debating on visiting Alabama or UGa this weekend. It's possible he could go ahead and commit if he visits Alabama.

bamafanforever69: do we get bobby humprey's son marlon?

Andrew Bone: Yes

bamaforlife72: Kendall Fuller & Vonn Bell - our chances with them?

Andrew Bone: Alabama has a chance with Bell. They aren't a major factor with Fuller.

Allen: Adams to uga--means we are looking for someone else on the dl?

Andrew Bone: I was saying Adams is probably visiting UGA this weekend. I don't think he ends up at Alabama. I do think Alabama is recruiting several DL right now. I am not sure how many they plan to take.

tidefanforever69: we get a commit from a 2014 recruit this weekend?

Andrew Bone: Not in my opinion.

Matthew Thomas lists Alabama as his leader:

quote:

Matthew Thomas is one of the most sought-after linebackers across the nation in the 2013 class. While Thomas still hasn't figured out the time line for his decision, there is one school leading the race for his skills. Get the latest on the Booker T. Washington (Miami, FL) standout here.

Matthew Thomas has offers from many schools including Miami, Alabama, Florida State, Florida, and Auburn. He says Miami and Alabama seem to be coming after him the hardest, and while the Hurricanes are the home team for the linebacker, Alabama is on top of his list for now. Tim Williams on his relationship with Tide coaches:

quote:

Tim Williams, four-star defensive end from Baton Rouge-University Lab School, La., has double-digit scholarship offers with the first coming from Alabama. He talked about the relationship with the Tide coaching staff and the latest offers.

"The best relationship I have is with Coach Burns from Alabama," said Tim Williams. "They were the first school to start recruiting me. I will always have a special relationship with coach Burns. I am going back up there this summer.

“I went to LSU’s spring game. I haven’t been anywhere else this spring. I am just focused on building relationships and getting to know the coaches. I am getting to know the programs. I am going to be busy this summer."

Williams has added several recent offers. He talked about the schools recruiting him the hardest.

“I was just offered by Miami today,” he said. “I was offered last week by Arizona. I am up to 13 offers. I would say LSU, Alabama, USC, Florida State, Miami and Ole Miss are the schools recruiting me the hardest. I think I will wait until closer to the end of my senior season before I make a decision.”

Some schools are recruiting Williams as a defensive end while others have talked with him about outside linebacker. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect talked about his future position.

“I don’t have a preference as to where I play,” Williams said. “I can play outside linebacker or defense end. I have played defensive end my whole high school career. I would probably be more comfortable playing defensive end, but I wouldn’t mind playing outside linebacker.

“Alabama is recruiting me for Jack linebacker. I think the position is cool. I think I could make an impact playing the position. It intrigues me a bit. I am curious as to what I can do and learn at the position.”

Williams discussed more of his interest in the Crimson Tide.

“I have much respect for their program,” he said. “I am interested in what Alabama has to offer. I love their defense. I love the mentality of the program. I am curious to see if the Jack linebacker position fits me. If I decide to go there I know it would be fun.”

Tenpenny to visit Arkansas today and Alabama for A-Day:

quote:

Altee Tenpenny, National 100 running back from North Little Rock, Ark., is one of the top prospects in the country. The Alabama commitment has a busy weekend ahead which includes a trip to Tuscaloosa on Saturday. He will also visit the in-state SEC school following the aftermath of Bobby Petrino. Tenpenny talked of his commitment and thoughts on the Razorbacks.

"I am going to Alabama’s spring game this weekend,” said Altee Tenpenny. “I have been waiting to get back up there for a minute. I can’t wait."

Tenpenny has kept in touch with the Tide coaches on a weekly basis including head coach Nick Saban.

“I have been talking to coach Groh,” he said. “I talked to coach Saban and coach Burns. I talked to coach Groh today. Coach Groh was just checking in to see how my week was going.

“When I talk to coach Saban and coach Burns they always talk to me about my position. They talk to me about how they feel about my commitment and how they think I can make a big impact at Alabama.”

The elite national prospect has visited Arkansas more than once. The Razorbacks have continued their best recruiting efforts in hopes of keeping the state’s top player at home. He talked about the departure of Bobby Petrino.

“It’s crazy right now,” Tenpenny said. “I really wasn’t expecting this to happen. I have talked to him several times, and he seemed like a real cool guy. I just wasn’t expecting this to happen.

“It impacts my thoughts on Arkansas a little bit, but not too much. Coaches are a major point, but I know Arkansas is a good program and a good school to attend. My coach and I are attending their practice on Friday."

Nope, he got drunk and started buying shots for everybody. I had at least 15 yagerbombs last night. We got there after work at 5 for happy hour and I got home last night at 12:30.
