Stay away from Brantley. This one is hopefully going to be worth a shite.

I hope Williams has a good year. If we get crappy production out of the TE position we are going to have to sweat that one out. The snake oil will flow freely into his living room.

I expect Brian Vogler to have a breakout year.

He has to get past 4th on the depth chart first. I say 4th because we'll see Brandon Lewis in a blocking role if Bama ever goes 3 TEs.

Vogler doesn't like to block. Unless someone gets hurt, I doubt he ever plays a meaningful down.

Starting to hear more encouraging things with AU this year with Loefler and how little a TE will be used. Lutz has gotten angry in a few practices so I have no worries. They gon run the hell outta the WRs though. I'm good friends with Sammie Coates Uncle and he says they are running them to death and Lutz is just called on to block in a lot of sets
Like I said no worries

Oh and like I said earlier a few pages back Trent would run a 4.52 40, still looked beastly 1st was 4.51 2nd was 4.49 maybe 48 different contradicting times, bit his body type with stacked muscles isn't gonna test well in a straightline speed test like a 40, more importantly the knee looked great for just having surgery and his athleticism and agility really stood out.
Upshaw is heeding big time, up to 279 today for 6'1 lol, might be better off now with a 4 man front team as a DE.
Very proud of Barron for toughing it out and going, showed a lot of character and dedication today

He must be punking you because this is just a snippet from an article on how much the players love Loeffler, and what it appears his offense will include.
Yeah, you been had...That's all I got I will hang up now.
quote:
"I love him," senior wide receiver Emory Blake says. "He's very hands-on. He definitely knows what he's talking about. You can't help but listen to him. He is that kind of presence on the field and in the meeting room. I'm very excited to have him here."
quote:
"He's a great guy," sophomore running back Tre Mason says. "Not only is he a great coach, he is also a great person. He can be hard on you, but that's what it takes to be a great team."
quote:
Loeffler has steadfastly refused to publicly offer any real insight into what Auburn will do on offense, other than he says running the ball will be a priority. But it's clear quarterbacks will be under center far more than in the past three seasons, that tight ends and running backs will be heavily involved in the passing game and that play-action passes will be a staple of the offense.

I, for one, could care less what AU is doing with their offense moving forward. None of us will know anything until after the season whether or not they run a pro-style offense, spread, wing-T, triple option, or a sophisticated Pop Warner style offense.
It really doesn't matter.
If any Alabama fan is afraid of losing a TE commitment all they should take comfort in is the way we featured our TEs during the last 4 games of last season. After the first LSU game, our coaches utilized our tight ends beautifully and I don't see them changing that strategy.
Granted, OJ Howard will far and away be the best TE recruit we have signed in decades, but Brad Smelley was a little 3 star recruit who delivered in some very big games. We will be fine in finding his replacement.
As for Dee Liner, if he comes I will be happy, if not we will be OK. He's not the highest rated person on our board at his position.

Decided to run the Jim McElwain offense?
Posted on 3/29/12 at 10:49 pm to CapstoneGrad06
In all honesty, I'm curious to see how we use Malcolm Faciane this upcoming season. Before his injury he was clocked at 4.6 in the forty while measuring 6'6" and 240 lbs. He could be deadly in our offense if utilized correctly.
