I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but 2014 is looking extremely good for the state of Alabama. EJ Moss is going to be one of the best QBs in the country. Bo Scarborough is more than likely going to be a 5 star athlete and Marlon Humphrey out of Hoover, Bobby's son, will most likely be the top CB in the nation. Did I mention that all 3 are Bama fans?

There's also the Miami Central RB duo of Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cook, who happen to be Bama fans as well. Not to mention Rock Thomas from Oxford.

Well if you choose to believe some people on the LSU Recruiting Board, apparently Alabama is the early leader for 2014 5-star lock RB/LB Leonard Fournette, the top ranked player from Louisiana over the next two years.

I personally won't believe it until he signs, but its out there at the moment.

It would be awesome if we got Bo and Fournette, but I would be perfectly happy if we just got Bo.

Many people think Bo could make it as a WR, given that he had clocked a 4.3 before his injury. He recently clocked a 4.5 while admittingly being about 80%.

I'm hopeful that we can keep them from being recruited against each other and snag both of them.

I've heard that Fournette may outgrow RB as well and may end up at LB. If we get both I would want to see one of them at RB though.

Scarbrough ready for spring practice

quote:

The talented 2014 star suffered a torn ACL during the 2011 season. In what would be considered a very fast recovery, Scarbrough told Alabamaintel last night that “his knee is 100% and the Dr’s have cleared him to participate in spring practice next month.” This news is significant, because some were speculating that his knee injury was so severe, that it would take 18 months to rehabilitate.

It is no secret that Scarbrough is an Alabama lean, “Alabama is out in front of everyone else. They have been recruiting me longer and harder than anyone,” Scarbrough said. “I go by the football complex as much as I can. All the coaches know me and I feel like I know most of the players.

Good to know his recovery is coming along well.

Full discolosure: Bo stated in a recent interview that he grew up rooting for Oklahoma and someone on Tidesports who claims to know Marlon said he's a big Florida fan.

That said, they both like Bama a lot and will most likely wind up at Bama.

Sony Michel is another highly-touted '14 RB that is very interested in Bama but he'll be tough to pull out of Florida.

I think its pretty safe to say Bo and Marlon will be wearing crimson. Michel recently named a top 2 of Miami and FSU. I doubt he'll leave the state of Florida.

Apparently Marlon was at practice today, there's an update on Tidesports about it.

This made my night.

I thank you sir for providing me with entertainment tonight. As you might have already guessed from my AU brethren, Lutz is not practicing now. So he would actually have no input to this conversation that you claimed to have had. I do cheers you on the joy of your failure though.

This article was posted on October 25, 2011:

Bo Scarborough, running back from Tuscaloosa-Northridge, Ala., projects as the top recruit in the 2014 class in the state of Alabama. He suffered a season ending injury last Friday in his team’s first loss of the season. Scarborough discussed the injury and surgery scheduled Tuesday morning. He also talked about a recent visit to Alabama.

"They say things happen for a reason," said Bo Scarborough. "I tore my ACL in the first quarter against Hillcrest Friday night. I will have surgery at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

"I was getting ready to cut back across the field. I tried to cut back too quick. My cleat got stuck in the ground, and I got hit up high. My leg hyperextended, and that’s when I tore the ACL."

The University of Alabama has already offered the elite sophomore.

"I went to the Alabama game on Saturday," Scarborough said. "They were telling me I will come back stronger. They told me I will put on a little weight. They wished me good luck with my surgery.

"The coaches told me not to worry about anything. They told me they still want me and still interested in me. It made me feel good."

Scarborough discussed the Tide's game against the Volunteers.

"It was a good game," he said. "They were going head-to-head until halftime. I guess Dont’a [Hightower] and Dre [Kirkpatrick] got after the defense. Trent [Richardson] and Eddie [Lacy] stepped it up on offense. I liked [Darius] Hank's big catch across the middle. They came back and worked hard as a team."

Scarborough will return as a top prospect for the Alabama/LSU game.

"It’s No. 1 against No. 2," he said. "They have the same things going on at LSU. Alabama and LSU have good receivers and good running backs. They both have good defenses. The game is going to be very close. Not many points will be scored."

He's gonna be a 5 star. He doesn't have anything to worry about.

But solid trolling.

If any Alabama fan is afraid of losing a TE commitment all they should take comfort in is the way we featured our TEs during the last 4 games of last season. After the first LSU game, our coaches utilized our tight ends beautifully and I don't see them changing that strategy.

Granted, OJ Howard will far and away be the best TE recruit we have signed in decades, but Brad Smelley was a little 3 star recruit who delivered in some very big games. We will be fine in finding his replacement.

Yup

Depending on how Loeffler uses Phillip Lutz (and I expect Loeffler to use him a ton), it could help us to flip OJ Howard. That, plus Liner being in his ear everytime they talk, and the fact that OJ Howard grew up an Auburn fan. We'll see in the end, or before that.

OJ could just as easily flip Liner to Bama so this is kind of dumb to point out.
