I see chistopher smith listed on the depth chart. Who the hell is that? Did he play last year.

Yeah he took over after Lecounte’s injury last year and started the last 5 games. Graded out as a 72 on PFF if I remember correctly. Anything over 70 is considered “great” according to their scales.

I actually like him more than Cine. Much better in run coverage.

Full Georgia secondary PFF grades from last year:

Scale:

Below 60: poor numbers for college
60-70: average numbers for college
70-85: great numbers for college
85+: elite

Major Burns- 60.1
Mark Webb- 60.9
Tyrique Stevenson- 64.1
DJ Daniel- 66.1
Ameer Speed- 67.0
Jalen Kimber- 67.4

Richard Lecounte- 70.4
Lewis Cine- 71.4
Chris Smith- 71.8

Eric Stokes- 72.5
Latavious Brini- 73.5
Tyson Cambell- 76.9
Tykee Smith- 82.4

Listened to a podcast by an A&M writer and he was livid that A&M would be more talented on the Oline. But yall lost like the entire line correct?

We lost 4 of 5.

The 1 returned was an All-American (Green).

Out of the 4 guys that left, only one was drafted. He went in the 4th. The 4 guys ranked 757th, 980th, 1164th, & 1394th overall in the recruit rankings. None were even in the top 100 in Texas.

The new expected group is mostly 4*/top 300 types including a transfer from UT who was #23 overall. He hasn't lived up to that expectation (hence the transfer), but you can see why people think it'll be more talented.

Offense, I'm not as worried about the QB spot as I am having that go to receiver. Also nervous about being able to run the ball without having the threat of elite WR speed/talent over the top. Also replacing a first round center and deonte brown (guard) will not help that run game.

What about SB and that "speedy" Javon Baker? Just Kidding.....I'm hoping A. Hall will fill the role as the over the top threat.

Offensive line. We're too thin and already having homeboard preseason meltdowns over LT. We stole Wanya Morris from Tennessee but he's unproven and rumored to be having compliance issues. Which leaves us with essentially a guard starting at LT as our best option because he's a senior, but he ain't no Tackle.

Florida has multiple question marks.
Biggest though has to be the secondary. Its gradually gotten worse.

Grimes and Pitts are gone. Whose going to catch to the ball.

Running has been a problem as well. We have talent, but the line hasn't been generating a lot of push.

Emery has been here 3 years buy never started. How will her handle being the man?

Smith is a true senior from the Atlanta area who started every game at free safety after LeCounte was injured in his motorbike accident. He’s a solid enough player who added a bit of mass in the off-season.

I’m not worried about our starters at safety (Cine and Smith) but our depth there is a concern, especially if Cine continues his habit of trying to decapitate receivers running across the middle of the field.

Ahhh that's why I never heard about him. Tended to watch less Georgia after that Florida game.

Who starts at RT for y'all?
Also what positon did Stevenson play before he transfered?

We are now thin but very talented at QB. The fact that Johnson is a left handed qb may actually diminish the impact of losing the LT, but O Line in the running game still worries me. We have raw talent at RB with Emery and TDP plus the incoming freshman, just need to be able to block for them.

WR somehow baca me super young but holy hell is there some talent there.

DL is friggin stacked. We got dudes on dudes on dudes (eat your heart out aggies)

DB’s are stacked. Safeties are the weak link here but we have talent.

LB’s should be much better. I don’t think they were truly as bad as the bo Pelini defense made them look, but they have to prove it.

Overall the positions i worry about are OL, LB, and qb depth.

They will legit have to build differently. As we've seen - it's a grind. I don't worry about Oklahoma - they'll do fine.

Most important group that could be weak? OL. Losing our starting LT to the compliance dept sucked, and the line was very weak last year so not sure all the returning starters is that great of a thing

Weakest group? Definitely TE. Starter is a redshirt freshman who’s biggest play last year was getting his shoe thrown and the 2nd string is a converted baseball player with zero experience, then we have a true freshman WR who will play flex TE

I’m interested to see if the team can just buy in at this point.

Too many QBs, 6 scholarship RBs, way too many new faces that haven’t worked together before.

Well dang, addition by subtraction. I got to think A&M fans are itching for the season. This has to be like a top 5 team in terms of talent on paper for you guys...

Also who is that QB going to be?

For Alabama, I think it's the wide receiver group

I disagree. We'll probably have 2 future first round WRs on the field.

I think it's gotta be either RB or QB.
