I was thinking the same thing. Pistol in the modern game would be ridiculous. Chris Jackson as a complement is just unfair.

I realize LSU isn't a National Power in Basketball and doesn't have the hardware that some do. However, I'd put our starting 5 against anyone. I would here an argument for Ben Simmons over Stromile Swift just based on pure talent but the other 4 are spot on.

I'd put Petit at PF and Rudy Macklin at SF. And John "Hot Plate" Williams could back up all three frontcourt positions.

Wilbekin
Beal
Parsons
Horford
Noah

Bench of Brewer, Miller, Clayton Jr. (he might top Wilbekin by the end of this year), Maxwell, Pat Young

I leave off the guys like Jason Williams who were good pros but didn't actually do shite at UF

This makes me realize how marginalized and underfunded the A&M basketball program was until the mid 2000s.

If we had to crank one I would go with

Acie Law

Khris Middleton

DeAndra Jordan

Robert Williams III

Antoine Wright

State competes with a lot of these teams I think, less LSU. Hip shooting here, might be whiffing on one or two, but:

1 - Jamant Gordon
2 - Jeff Malone
3 - Dontae ('s Inferno) Jones
4 - Bailey Howell
5 - Eric Dampier

PG was probably the toughest pick. Went with Gordon because of pure energy and his ability to do literally anything on a basketball court.
Everything else I think was pretty easy, but again I may have whiffed. Hard to leave Spoon, Super D and Varnado off the list.

PG - TJ Ford
SG - Avery Bradley
SF - Kevin Durant
PF - Myles Turner
C - Lamarcus Aldridge

This team is gonna play some D and score some points..

eta: I'm sure there is 1 or 2 I'm missing better than these guys.. PG and SF are set though.

Stromile Swift instead of Rudy Macklin is shameful.

And by the way it’s Pettit.

Old heads will disagree, but I am taking Knecht over Earnie all day. Also give me Marcus Haislip over Bullwinkle.

I was also living in Houston when he was pro...and damn, he was deadly.

Lifelong Houston sports fan here, Rockets have been irrelevant ever since “Clutch City.” When they ran the offense through Hakeem, it was fun to watch Horry & Ellie shoot the wide open 3’s.
