I just don’t see any signs whatsoever that the NIL spending is slowing down

I have a degree in 2 of the three professions you mentioned and I certainly understand transactional relationships.

You get it but the schools especially in the South will burn in hell before they do that.

Most billionaires don’t have hundreds of millions of dollars in cash lying around. They hide it in assets and investments and a millionaire isn’t a factor in NIL

I agree that the NIL spending hasn't slowed down YET, but boosters are not going to continue throwing money down this bottomless pit and get zero return on their investment.

That's what we thought with coaches. Surely no other school would swoop in with a higher salary and lower buyout offer. That would be insane, right?

Huge increase in money chasing the same roster size. What's that mean folks? C'mon...think a little.

Honestly I'd rather go back to the old rules - you either transfer to a Div II school or you sit a year. That would knock a lot of this shite off. This portal was a covid-era thing and it needs to be over with. We're back to the real world.

Either that or we need some kind of enforcement agency with more teeth. Some nationalized policy where there's a minimum 2 year commitment, etc. Something needs to happen because this is bullshite. Every year everybody have a brand new team, with these kids taking payday after payday and possibly sucking arse, not giving a shite.

boosters are strongly considering pulling back their NIL money because players are simply using them for a quick payday and the following year are off to another program.

No shite.

We do not need congress to protect goofy ADs and boosters from themselves.

There is no way this will happen without a governing body with an anti-trust exemption to enforce the rules. Ain’t happening.

Certainly didn't work for BK last year. Unfortunately, we are paying for it now.

Who could have possibly seen that 17-24 year old players who think they are god's gift to the earth would take advantage of such a system?
