These founders of Louisiana were eaten almost to death with various venereal diseases when they arrived in Louisiana for the first time.
From that time to the present time, due to inadequate medical care in the state of Louisiana, many of the same ancient strains of those varied and numerous venereal diseases still run rampant in just about the entire native population of the state.

That's fricked up. Wow. This explains a whole lot about their current culture. The spicy food they eat is probably just to permeate all the sores in their mouths so they can taste something. Gross.
