OU has a national championship more recently than Junior & Lulu U...

I am not sure the ceiling ain't higher in Knoxville. Oklahoma is seriously getting into Nebraska territory except Oklahoma's schedules going forward are going to be slightly to significantly more difficult than Nebraska's are. I know OU is a true blue blood BUT that is easy to obtain when Kansas is about as tough as your schedule gets outside of one team every year.

Bold statement considering he’s beaten Bama 2 out of the last 3.
Yeah he pretty much owns Bammer at this point.
And Florida.
Georgia's next on the menu. In two years we'll be saying the same thing about them.

Yah, he's not even from Oklahoma. He's from South Dakota. OU was like his 3rd or 4th school. He was there two years.
This isn't like Johnny Majors going back to Tennessee.
But I can understand everyone wanting him to leave. If he was at any other SEC school I'd want him to leave, too

Fair enough. As I said early on this topic.. only Heupel knows what he will do.. anyone saying something else is pure speculation.

He may end up leaving for Alabama.

As an outsider, I could see Heupel going back to Oklahoma, and I don't see why Tennessee fans are so defensive about the discussion.
It's really a unique situation; he went to Oklahoma and won the national championship there, as well as a lot of awards. Going back wouldn't be a snub to anyone, it would be more like returning home.
I remember being stressed out with the Miles to Michigan talks in 2007, we had just recently lost Saban to the NFL and that talk was starting up. Miles famously didn't take it (we don't know if he was offered), but I imagine years later it probably did break his heart that he never had a chance to run "his" program.
Heupel may feel better off staying away and making his own name, and that's fine too. But there's clearly a reason he would go, so to act like there isn't is silly.

Well I hope they keep Venables for 10-20 years.. I'd rather Heupel not go there..

Oklahoma is not the same as it once was, now that they are in the SEC they have to battle LSU, Texas, Arkansas as well as everyone else in the SEC for Texas recruits. They definitely don't have Tennessee's NIL or a 100k stadium OU is rebuilding job.. you can compete every year for a National Championship at Tennessee now that NIL is a thing.

This thread is being made weekly all over SEC nation, on every forum where football is discussed.
Tennessee fans are just laughing at the fear.

It was much tougher battling those schools for recruits when we were in the BIG 12 clownboy.

OU and Stoops scapegoated the shite out of Josh and ran him off. He has found his new home. He has the full support of the AD and the President and has access to as many resources as anyone in the country. It is highly doubtful that he would leave UT anytime soon.
Plus, he's already been in the process of transforming into Phil Fulmer.

This is one of those situations where if he went home everyone would understand it, but he should learn from Lane Kiffin…

Only because of Heupel… and see how they treated him?
But the criteria from the OP is not debatable.
