No where near as bad as Auburn's Andy Burchum. He is one I can't stand to listen to. Super good dude, but horrible.

It could be from being spoiled listening to Fyfe and then Bramblett for so long.

Dumbass talk for 5 minutes describing a 2 yard gain.

Likely suspect. With his army of fake Texas
posters, Willie's alters are now jerking the
strings of much of the Rant. Sad.

I don't know why y'all hate Todd Ellis. I am in SC and catch parts of a game once in a while and he seems great to me. Perfect amount of homerism. His sidekick is a sniveling weasel though.

Never could tell what was going on with Dave South. The new Aggie guys gets way too excited for a 5 yard run.

Who was the best?? Cawood Ledford, Cawood Ledford all day long... Used to listen to him religiously on my small portable transistor radio in the 60's as a kid from 500 miles away because he was so darn good, both in football and basketball.... And I'm not a Kentucky fan....

Sir…. You need to be banded for life. Larry Munson was one of the best.

He did have a unique style and intriguing voice.... Not bad, I could listen to Ga. games.

He is bad and as he ages seems to miss so much of what’s actually happening.

AUs crew isn’t very good either. The guy that took over for Bramlett seems like a good guy, but he just doesn’t have it. Stan White is whiny and annoying.

Hate the sound of his voice. In 2002, all he yelled was “Jankins” “Jankins”. The kids name was “Jenkins”.

Nothing will ever compare to the old school radio announcers

Jack Cristil, John Ward, Cawood Ledford, Munson, Ferguson etc.
Those guys could paint a picture through the radio and you could see the field in your mind when they were calling games.

All that said, Neil Price the current radio announcer for State is very good and I enjoy listening to him.

Overall, it is just not the same today. Those of us that are older and grew up before every game was televised know what I am talking about.

I can remember listening to many a game with my Dad. Lots of great memories from my childhood (1960’s-70’s) days sitting in the den with our ears glued to the radio.

I disagree. A&M actually upgraded our radio voice recently. Dave South had an iconic voice, but he was horrible at actually painting a picture ("He is a touchdown!" became a meme on Aggie boards, to give you an idea ). Andrew Monaco actually used to do the San Antonio Spurs' TV pregame and postgame here in SA. I was pissed when they announced he was leaving the Spurs' TV team (he and Sean Elliott were the main reasons to tune in for me), but then overjoyed when he revealed he was replacing South as the voice of Aggie football. He's fantastic on the air

I finally decided it was time for Eli to retire after hearing his call of 2nd and 26. It's like he had come up with something to say days before thinking we'd win after a victory formation kneel down but then applied it to one of the most memorable plays in the history of college football.
