Somehow forgot to mention 2006 UGA at Auburn. Miserable in every way

South Carolina 65-39 at State in 1995.

It seemed more like 650-39.

That's not such a shocking score now, but in 1995 giving up 65 points in an SEC home game was obscene.

Nobody has mentioned Auburn vs Penn State last year.

I guess most of the rant was already done with Harsin and avoided that game despite all of the stadium theme/color gimmicks.

LSU-Florida 2001.
Rex Grossman had one of the best performances I ever saw in person still to this day. He could do no fricking wrong.

I forgot about that game. Think you’re right though. Everyone knew last season was a lame-duck session for Auburn.

2008 Auburn at State
2008 egg bowl

That egg bowl yielded some of the best Jack Cristil quotes ever

Nov 5 1988 #5 FSU 59 at #15 Carolina 0

Deion in town. USC had beaten NCSU in Raleigh the week prior. the SI/Tommy Chaikin story broke 3 weeks before. FSU had been moved down in the AP25 consecutive weeks despite 2 wins. W-B was every bit as electric as the 2001 UF game & 2012 UGA game.

then Todd Ellis did Todd Ellis things - oh yeah there was a blocked punt for a TD too.

1. 2021 Mizzou vs Tennessee

Worst game I’ve ever seen in my life.

No UGA fan has posted the correct answer. It is Jim Donnan’s first game as UGA coach on August 31, 1996.

Southern Miss 11, UGA 7.

Texas A&M at Auburn - 2012 (63-21)

Two first for me. 1. 1st Aggie vs SEC road game I had ever seen. 2. 1st (and only) time I have ever seen a home team fans leaving a game at halftime.

2012 Texas A&M. Lost 63-21 and we were down 42-7 at the half. Just obscene.

1st and only time I have ever left a game as a fan. Went downtown and got something to eat with family and friends and finished watching the murder on TV

I was one of them. The only other time I left a game that angry was the 2008 Vanderbilt game, but it was on the road. Both of those games were, “Well the coach is going to be fired now for sure” type of games.

2000 Iron Bowl in freezing rain/sleet. Auburn won 9-0

Honorable mention - Northern Illinois loss and 2001 Homecoming loss to Rohan Davey and LSU. I think that dude is still throwing the ball

Historically, Alabama/Southern Miss was a good matchup. Obviously the last decade hasnt been good to USM (nor anyone else for that matter) but ither than that, they've put up a good fight.

I hated playing Southern Miss. Was always a tough game

Worst game was 2006 Tulane. I've seen some very deflating losses in my time as a State fan/grad, but this one took the cake. The final score looked much closer than the game actually was. That was one bad loss you could pin on the coaches and the players.
