Missouri would have rather been in The B1G and would probably leave the SEC for The BIG if given the chance.
Here's the rub.
Texas is not an equal school. The SEC is an equal conference. We divide up everything equally between 14 schools.
Texas A&M is a good fit for the SEC. Sure they are weirdos, but they are far less liberal than Austin Texas.
Missouri is a better fit for the SEC than the BIG.
Neither Missouri nor Texas A&M have caused a problem in the SEC and they have embraced the Equality of the conference.
If Texas would have joined with their Longhorn channel it would not have been equal. Sooner or later they would have wanted a bigger cut of the network contract.
The Aggies are weirdos that's a given. Missouri is more midwestern as well.
The two fit in the SEC tho. Their fans are unique from what we are used to, but they are not a problem from a revenue perspective which is what the conference cares about.
I'm glad to have em. Sure ATM is like adding Alabama lite and Missouri is like adding a tie to a suit you forgot you have.
Texas is poison and would cause problems for the conference.

Mizzou would not leave the SEC for the B1G. This is the best spot for us, even if Mizzou once flirted with the B1G. We're not going anywhere, this is where we want to be.

Concur, havin fun with ya.. I initially was responding to some clown Mizzou fan bashing Texas’ value. Trust me, Texas fans DGAF about the $ unless a pawnlike Mizzou fan tries to disrespect the brand. The only good the brand value does for a fan is keep the candle of hope lit.

Somehow this all goes back to your uncontrollable hatred of UT and how it must be taken out on the other rivalries that aggy ranters are trying to manufacture on the sec rant.
I am sure that this is not a thing with most aggy fans that don’t post. But there are 7 or 8 that go into a tizz if you mention the decision to take aggy and mizz over other higher tier programs.

I recently moved to Missouri for work. No one gives a damn about Mizzou sports here. A far cry from getting asked who your team is in job interviews in the South.

Mizzou is the forgotten pawn.

Guys the SEC does not want or need Texas...
Texas single handed destroyed the old SWC

From everything I have read or heard about their campus culture a school like Texas would fit better in the PAC. The PAC is a collection of weirdos, wackos and culture warriors. Don't ever want to see Texas in the SEC.

It’s a good thing very few in the SEC fan base desire Texas as a conference partner as UT has declined and will always decline any SEC offers.
To each their own, I’d love to see my Horns in the SEC but my only objective is watching football. Texas & the SEC simply aren’t a fit.
