Why do you think Richt passed on DESHAUN WATSON and opted for Jacob Park? Seems weird to me.
Your premise is incorrect. Watson was the #1 QB prospect in the nation according to Rivals LINK and received offers from every major university in the SEC included Georgia; he was recruited by Mike Bobo. Unfortunately Watson chose Clemson probably because he is a dual-threat QB and UGA runs a pro-style/pocket passer type offense.
You really need to think through your posts before you make them.

2002 Georgia struggled to beat a team playing a wide receiver at quarterback in the Sugar. Fun game. If Bolden could have thrown AND caught the passes the master may have beaten the student in a huge upset. I didn't like their chances against the U, even though Mussa was an absolute beast. The defense was good enough to hang with the U, but the U's talent was unreal that year. Dorsey > poor man's Dorsey.

The game wasn't even close. We went up 17-7 at half and with our Defense that was a pretty commanding lead. Wasn't a blowout but it was a pretty solid thumping defensively. Held them to 262 total yards and alof of those came on 2 big plays.

2007? The national champion lost to Kentucky....KENTUCKY!!
I know that 2007 LSU suffered two embarrassing losses and didn't play that great towards the end of the season, but this thread is about Georgia. Why point to an extraordinary year to make an argument for Richt?

Stop posting, your knowledge of college football is embarrasing Auburn fans.
Hey, the main topic is Georgia. Auburn is the fanbase that I've identified myself with on here, but they shouldn't be the focus. There's no need to flame. Act civil like your other Georgia brethren and answer the question posed in the thread's title. Thank You.

The game was close.
Fabian Walker threw two picks and a TD to, guess who, Anquan Boldin. Fabian was so bad, they preferred to go with a WR for the rest of the game. Also, we have the benefit of hindsight to tell us Fabian Walker never did anything. I guess he gets credit for being a trivia answer.
The game was 10-7 with 6 minutes left in the half and 17-7 at half. It was 23-13 going into the final quarter. It isn't as if Richt was up 26-0 and backed it off so he wouldn't embarrass the man that converted him to Christianity. I do think that he probably would have preferred not to embarrass him, but UGA cannot be said to have thoroughly ran away with the game at any time.
They were a dropped 70 yard touchdown from Boldin to Gardner to being down a field goal in the final frame.

I watched the entire game. The game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated. FSU was inept for the majority of the game. They hit a few big plays but other than that we thumped them. Could have easily been a blowout but our offense sputtered for the majority of the game even though Musa did his thing. Green only had 99 yards passing and we played conservative. The Defense was dominant and the game was never in doubt.

I attended the game. Nothing about the Billy Bennett field goal fest put the game away. Again, if Gardner catches the 70 yard touchdown on the blown coverage by UGA, that last Bennett field goal would have been much more meaningful.
From the game recap from our friends at ESPN.com
quote:
The Seminoles gave star receiver Anquan Boldin a shot at quarterback, hoping he could spark the offense. It might have worked, too, if Talman Gardner had not dropped a perfectly thrown deep pass near the goal line.
Boldin hopped up and down in dismay after the ball slipped through Gardner's hands. On the next play, Boldin bruised his left hand when dragged down behind the line, knocking him out for the rest of the first half.
Mussa Smith and Anquan were by far the two best players on the field that day. Very impressive display. I'll always wonder how Mussa didn't make it in the league.

Long enough ago that Auburn has won an SEC Championship and played for a MNC since then. When is the last time Georgia did either of those things?

I'm ready for UGA to make the game and lose. Holy shite the angst would be out of control.

The 4-Team playoff is the only reason that Richt will win a national title.
