Yes as long as the winner of the game goes on to win the SEC title. Worst case for the loser of UGA/Tennessee is a Bama SEC title win. No way the SEC champ is left out and the committee would take a 12-1 SEC title game loser with a head to head win over the East team who sat at home that weekend (unless it was a blowout. The committee could in theory take all 3 1 loss teams in that scenario but we know they wouldn't.

Why do people keep asking this same question over and over again. It's pretty simple.
Take the premise that Alabama wins out and goes to SECCG.
GA beats TN and beats AL in SECCG, GA is in AL is out.
GA beats TN and AL beats GA in SECCG, AL is in.
TN beats GA and beats AL in SECCG, TN in and AL out.
TN beats GA and AL beats TN in SECCG, AL is in.
Then you have the rest of the country to consider.
Clemson runs the table, they are in.
Ohio or Mich are in
SEC champ is in
What about TCU, if they run the table, are they are in?
What about Pac 12? If USC wins are they in? If Oregon wins are they in?
The committee has always said conference championship is given the most weight, but we know that isn't true because GA got in last year without be champs.
So we know 3 teams, given no meltdowns, will be in. Who will be the 4th? Big 12 champ, Pac 12 champ, or a 1 loss SEC team, GA or TN. If AL loses another game they are out.

No one takes the Big 12 seriously. They’ve never made it past the first round.
Doesn't matter, an undefeated P5 champ has never been left out of the CFP.

There are usually 1 or 2 of them, some years none…

The only know is that it's not gonna be the aggies.

Unlikely for either.
Possible (especially for UGA since they could have a win over another 1-loss playoff contender), but unlikely.

If the winner also beats a 1-loss Alabama in the SEC championship, and either Clemson or TCU lose a game between now and then, then yes.

Right so Clempsum
OSU-Michigan winner
and two SEC east unless west wins then only one sec east team

The loser gets in if the winner of this game wins the SEC championship

UT won't be able to back door after the loss and once they do lose, they will down play it by saying they expected an 8-4 season and have been playing with house money

It's possible but a lot of things would need to play out.

Yep if we lose we need Bama to lose big time. If that happens we’re probably in

Not a lock but still in the thick of the hunt.

sigh...
First consideration: p5 conference champs
Second: number of losses
Last year GA got in because there was no other P5 champ with 1 or 0 loss. Ya know, kinda like how bama got in in 2017. If OkSt wins the big 12 last year we're sitting at home.

Any SEC team besides the Champion is out, unless there are no other 1 loss P5 champs to put in.

When GA gets beat no. They will move out because of their weak schedule and only having beaten one ranked team...non SEC Oregon. Likely LSU/BAMA winner replaces them. TN stays regardless.
