Chances are the senior classes in the better programs will be half (numbers) of what they were 4 years ago.

Coaches are going to have to get a lot of production from the incoming freshmen classes (backup to the starters).

I don’t think there’s any pride in team or community any more. As we’ve seen, unless there are rules in place to prevent it, players will quit on their teams and walk right next door to their teams rival and sign on to play there. Everyone is looking out for numero uno.

I can’t say I blame them for that, but it seems like nobody has the competitive drive to win out the starting spot any more. They’ll just transfer. Nobody wants to try and beat their rival, they’ll just join them. I think it speaks more of this generation of kids than college football as a whole. Instant gratification, and it’s all about what’s best for me.

Interested in LSU fans' take since they're generally the experts on their players quitting on the team early/mid-season before they leave for good

Don't worry, Ricks will quit in Alabama too. It's in his DNA.

This has probably already happened with people who weren't happy with their place in the depth chart but no one heard about it because they weren't contributing anyway.

Everything other than the CFP games are irrelevant now.

Doubtful. This seems to be an issue at places where the head coach lacks sufficient mental fortitude. That's not a problem for Saban

College football is seeing what college basketball has been dealing with for a long time.

Players already quit mid season to transfer. That said, it comes with risk. If youre Bama or Georgia, you only have so many spots, so you want guys that are going to produce. If a guy sits out half the year, he isnt producing. I get being healthy, but you have to make sure youre proving you can do your job.

Can players use NIL money to pay their own tuition and transfer as many times as they want without sitting a year?

Okay, but I have to tell you, that I would make that trade every single time. If he "lets" us win in 2022 I will give him his pick of players off our team again.....and will do the same trade every year for the next 10.

I see it happening over the next few years . But as many will discover, more want ever get picked up than will. Then it will slow back down .

I don't know if that is any more true than it ever was.
What has changed, really? It's pretty much been one bowl had the #1 team and if they won they would win the National Championship.

I'm not sure a whole lot has changed other than perception. The vast majority of the bowls never had a chance to influence the title anyway.

Non-BCS bowls are pretty damn irrelevant considering they don’t exist anymore

Yes, and if I recall correctly, a whole team quit last December.

Not sure Jahleel Billingsley didn’t quit mid season and just forgot to tell anyone.

Watch his routes from the NC, it was like a how not to play TE highlight reel.

At some point it’s on the coaches for playing him, but it was truly incredible to watch him on the sky cam view.

Over the course of the years, I have seen many players quit yet not have the courtesy to get off of the field.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too when I posted it. Who wouldn't? The WR coming to Bama is a very good WR but he's not anyone's whole offense. Just a solid player.

Yeah but the 12th man no longer cares if the team plays or not.
