Ugh every thread I have to post this....for the last frickin time Oklahoma is not tied to OSU in any way and is not obligated to stay in conference with them. Texas is a toss up, I can see OU staying with Texas because those two are synonymous with each other and the monetary value is there. WHEN the big 12 dies Oklahoma state will die with it. Just like they were before the big 12.

Sorry, OU will just do whatever the Longhorns say - that is how their admin works. I wasn't trying to be funny, was simply talking to the current climate. They are perfectly happy where they are playing no-name teams that require little effort

the Big 12 is better off than the PAC 12. They are not dead at all. Getting a conference title game with 10 teams saved them.

Why would the SEC expand? Last time, it was to get into Texas, and set up a conference network. What compelling reason is there now, or even several years down the road?
Are you one of these folks who buys into the bullshite theory that college sports is going to end up with four conferences composed of 16 teams? Even if you buy that ridiculous argument, OU to the SEC makes little sense--they pretty much have to go to the Pac with Texas, OSU, and Texas Tech, in order to get the Pac to 16 if you think that is the end state of conference realignment.
If the SEC were looking to expand, they would probably look in the direction of Virginia and North Carolina, but I don't see that happening any time soon, either.

I think the only way that could happen is if the SEC took in Oklahoma St also. They are a package deal

In an ideal world, the SEC should add Oklahoma to the West and Clemson to the East.
The conference would be so stout at that point. Both are cultural fits for the league.

Oklahoma State was in the Big 8.

Short answer is no.

The SEC doesn't need any more football powers. Pick up a couple basketball schools and become the best in football and basketball.

Yes and move Auburn and Alabama to the East and move Mizzou and Oklahoma into the west. That will Even things up nicely. Geographically
Is anyone surprised an L8U fan has the amazing idea of putting Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida somewhere L8U doesn’t have to play them?
Let’s see... that would put LSU in a division with Ole Miss, State, Arky, Mo, A&M, KY, Vandy, OK. Yep that seems “LSU fair and balanced” and I would guess L8U fans will think the only reason it won’t happen is the corrupt SEC office is in Birmingham.
I have a better idea...why don’t you perpetually melting corn dogs just take your biotching, whining, crying, blaming, excuse-making arse to the B12. The entire SEC would be glad to see you go.

I see corn dogs post some version of move Bama and Auburn to the east constantly, always looking for the easy route. Nut up and win. Stop looking for an easier path.

No, too weak academically.

If they beat Bama this year, I vote YES!

OU and Texas are forever joined...one won't go without the other

I found some rare footage of OU joining the PAC 10 a few years back:

know they want out of the Big12
OU have nothing that will help with the T.V. market value. So SEC does not want any more states that have low T.V. market ratings. That is why Texas and Missouri got in over WVU and OU.
