I've read that Al Davis saw Russell tear up Notre Dame in the 2007 Sugar and decided (over the apparent objections of his staff) to draft him #1...
At least Russell lasted 3 years (albeit with a horrible O-line and team). Manziel didn't even last that.

If Jamarcus had the work ethic of Joe he would've been a fricking NFL 1st ballot Hall of Famer. He got drafted by a shite organization that didn't help his fat and lazy drive.

JFF was not the #1 pick or even close.
Expectations factor into the “bust” aspect, if anything JFF was expected to be a gamble. I’m a JFF fan due to his gonzo personality, he didn’t bust out.. he did exactly what was expected by most & he did it in spectacular fashion.

This is really laughable and I can’t believe you even posted such dribble.
Russell was an oak tree, with the mobility of a turtle and he got destroyed by the NFL. Even I could see he was going to be a bust in the NFL.
I will acknowledge that both benefited from having a great talent around them at LSU but Burrow is much more mobile and resourceful than Russell ever was and that will prove to be the difference when you look back at their NFL careers many years down the road.
IMO, no comparison at all between these two. Completely different QB’s. Both were great college QB’s but only one will prove to be a great NFL QB and his future is still in front of him.
