Both played at LSU, won a national title, the #1 overall pick.

Russell played 3 seasons in the NFL. He had an overall losing record at Oakland. He double his interception to touchdown ratio. Russell is considered to be the biggest bust in NFL history.

Is Joe Burrow the next Jamarcus Russell? I believe so.

Outside of LSU how are they comparable?

Their skill sets are vastly different.

Technically Russell was on the team in 2003 but he didn't play, he was redshirted

Do you mean the NEXT Jamarcus Russell?

Because I'm pretty sure Jamarcus Russell is THE Jamarcus Russell.

Russell lost 2 games, didn’t win a title, and had zero work ethic.

I’m sure Joe is telling teams he was undefeated against Miss State, just like Jamarcus.

Since he won the national title, did Russell also win the Heisman in your hypothetical scenario?

J Russell wasn't a bust because of talent. He could easily have been a perennial All-Pro QB. But he liked purple drank and being lazy, so he failed miserably.

J Burrow on the other hand has less natural ability and arm strength, but no one is going to out work him. And other than the occasional celebratory cigar, seems to be ok on vices.

So...no

No, because the money isn't and will not be the same. The ONLY reason JR will always be the #1 NFL bust is because of the money/contract he got from the dumbass Raiders.

Although Johnny Manziel is a much bigger NFL bust than JR.
