These bitter fans can’t understand that by Bama currently carrying the conference in basketball, just like we do on football, it brings the reputation up for the rest of the conference. Plus by Bama having success, it puts more pressure on the other conference teams to perform, therefore making them more competitive. Simply put, when Bama wins, the SEC wins

LSU fans care more about Bama losing in any sport than LSU winning.

I'm not a fan of Bama's coach so no.

What’s this “we” stuff? Hopefully you were being sarcastic.

If the Taliban had a basketball team, I’d root for them before I’d pull for Bama.

All this kumbaya BS is idiotic.
I'd never pull for any SEC team (other than my own) in any sport, unless they were playing another SEC team that we need to lose for reasons of division race, rankings, or pure hate.
Don't you guys realize that another conference team's success directly impacts your own team's recruiting?

would you (a Bama fan) root for Auburn and Tennessee??
Auburn yes , Tennessee , no way. I have Auburn family members ,
Auburn friends. If Alabama's not there , why would I not root for
their team ?

i don’t understand the logic..
in ____ sport where I compete with _____,
how is it good for Texas for that team to win a championship? if they win it this year. should I cheer for them next year too? what about the next year? How is a 3 peat for Oklahoma somehow good for Texas?
If my options are Tennessee and Connecticut in the final.. I’ll pull for Rick Barnes.. but not TN.
I just don’t understand how pulling for a direct rival is ever a good idea..

I'd pull for a team of Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Darth Vader and Pennywise the Clown before I'd ever root for UAT. Tennessee? Conditionally.
I’m guessing Snidely Whiplash is the head coach. Mao Zedong dons the mascot suit since he’s too short to get on the court. Fidel quit the team in protest about not being able to fire up a Cuban cigar while playing! This leaves Idi Amin to be the sixth man. Even his teammates worry about him taking a bite out of them if they don’t keep an eye on him!

I think some of y'all don't consider the difference in rooting for the conference vs. laughing our asses off given the situation.
I was rooting for both Auburn and A&M, because them winning helps the conference in many ways, which I won't rehash here.
A&M gave about as good of an effort as possible last night and almost upset one of the best teams in the country. They should get utmost respect for that performance, even after a loss.
I'll still be laughing at Auburn posters on this board months from now. Still doesn't mean I wasn't rooting for some of those kids on that team, and that I don't have Auburn friends who aren't total assholes (some are).
this is twice in the last week or so I find myself in agreement with you waspy posted good luck to the remaining SEC teams days ago, especially considering the poor showing we had early on in the Tourney.. give'em hell fellas

Honestly, I can support a run to the Final Four for whoever is left (that is Bama and Tennessee at this point). Not saying a title, but repping the conference at the Final Four.
And when it comes down to it, depending on the opponents, I would go with the SEC team over the media darlings. So while I might say I despise Bama more than Tennessee, Bama is playing UNC and Tenn is playing Creighton. I'm inclined to root for Bama to win, more than Tenn, this round.
