decent talent

He's pretty damn talented. The issue is he has stagnated in Auburn's offense.

I actually expected him to transfer. He is not an NFL level QB at this point. He is horrible if he even thinks the pocket is breaking down. He doesn't see the field well. He is afraid of getting hit. He has the arm talent, IMO, he just doesn't have the sack.

Every single word of this

The real question is why a pro style quarterback would have transferred to a high school style offense. That is not a shot at Auburn, but their system requires a QB that can run and throw a little, not one who can throw and not run at all.

Because he was not a pro style QB.

What style quarterback is he then? You consider him an athlete playing quarterback? I sure don't. That is what Gus wants.

He needs to grad transfer to a pro-style offense.

He has always been listed as a dual threat QB. He's no Nick Marshall but he's never been classified as a PS QB.

Apparently not. Jeremy Johnson, Sean White were both pro style.

Gus is throwing him under his bus like the OC and the RB coach.

Stid is being pushed out.

No he isn't. He and his little inner circle have been disgruntled a while. They've been publicly blaming Malzahn for Stidham being a giant pussy. Earlyish in the season they had a valid argument, but he gets happy feet even when the OL is doing a great job protecting. Throws to the wrong guys. Misses wide open big plays with plenty of protection. Aside from that, he's about to marry into a filthy rich family where he knows daddy in law will give him prestigious work. Might as well give the NFL thing a shot and not put it off. It's mutual. Auburn doesn't want him anymore and he doesn't to play for them anymore. I fully expect nepotism boy to fail, but I really don't think it's that big of a deal to him.

Stidham showed up on campus with a big arm and a brain that could not slow the game down to process it. He had issues early so those who say he regressed chose to ignore that the same issues have always been present.

The only time he played lights out was when KJ was healthy last season. It seems pretty simple that DC's focusing on KJ allowed Stidham to show out with that big arm talent. When he was the man this year and he was schemed for we saw the true colors. Generally, I know it's hard to be the man at this level...but I can't imagine him being successful in the NFL.

Wouldn’t he be projected 5-6th round

Nooooo. Auburn fans were telling us he was a lock for 1st round this time last year.

Did something happen to change that?
Well, at least JJ won the Heisman.

NFL teams are desperate for Quarterbacks. If he has a good combine, there will be more than one team willing to take him. They will look at the offense he was in and think they'll be able to develop and get the most out of him.

One more year under Gus and Stidham would probably lose the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time. Might as well go now.
