re: In preseason, which posters were telling this board that this team was really good?

Not me. I expected 8 and was hoping for 9.

Ended up with 15 points & 12 boards. Not great but pretty solid.
This feels like what Woodward did at A&M with Jimbo. Jimbo was worse than BK, but Woodward was the point man for both mistakes.
UNC would be an easier place to win games than Kentucky or Arkansas. Not that UNC is a better program, just that it is in the ACC. If using as a stepping stone, I'd say UNC is the best job of the 3.
Would love to see Arkansas succeed but without a 180 on NIL for football, it really doesn't matter much who the coach is.

re: Solely about football. Are SMU and Texas Tech more desirable coaching jobs than Arkansas?

Arkansas has more fan support than Texas Tech or SMU. Their facilities are better. People in Arkansas love their Hogs.
Their first problem is the state only produces around 5 SEC level players annually. Their second problem is that their big money boosters have given up on football. And of course their schedule is always very tough.
You can win more at Texas Tech or SMU. They have NIL money and much easier schedules. So yes, I'd rather have those jobs as a coach. But as a fan, much prefer Arkansas.

Congrats Crown. Ya'll got a really good one.
I actually have way more confidence in the offense than defense this year. We have 7 experienced O-Linemen. Moss, Owens, & Daniels to carry the rock. We have to be better at WR & TE than last year, as we were dogshit last year. We will atleast be fast at receiver this year. Marcel will determine if the offense is mediocre or really good.
Defensive line scares me too death. We lost 3 guys within the top 65 picks in the draft & only have 3 DTs who have ever played college ball. Could not stop the run or rush the passer last year. We were brutal at one corner and FS last year. I love Elko but he has his work cut out pulling this group together.

Boobie committed to USC already

I hope it is Brown. With a recruit of that level I wonder how the finances work? Would they go ahead and sign their NIL deal. Sounds like the 5 star OT Tech just landed already signed a deal with Tech. If it is allowed, I would imagine coaches want it done, so they don't have to worry until the bitter end. Hopefully we aren't stupid enough to allow his agent to announce the deal like happened to Tech.
Per Hayes Fawcett, we have 2 commits on the way. He is the guy who produces the social media commit shots for ON3. Watkins S/LB from SC supposed to be one of them.

Tristan Givens should be next on Monday. Top 50 national Edge out of Georgia.
5 star CB Brandon Arrington commits. Wish this board wasn't dead. We are getting around 5 more by July 4th. Let's go.

I agree on OL. But DT's are slim pickings and expensive in the portal as well.
JD Vance had a lot to do with this new pope. The new pope was fueding with JD about immigration and the concept of loving your family first, before immigrants. Hatred for Vance gave the Cardinals room to elect an American. So, indirectly this was 100% Trump's doing.
re: ESPN will sweeten the pot if SEC adds 9th game.

Waiting on the 9th game makes sense to me. I don't think ESPN is paying those extra dollars for nothing. Making them pay for the 9th game was just good business.
The playoff committee not caring about strength of schedule pushes the need to be paid for 9 games over the top.

re: Should we go for a transfer QB?

Marcel was ok this year, but we should be hunting someone with a real shot at taking QB1 in the portal. I would be shocked if we don't grab a QB from the portal, and hopefully not a depth piece.

Dindy hit the portal per twitter.
You have 3 ACC & 3 BIG12 teams in the playoffs? I would think 3 between the conferences combined is WAY more likely.
