Rrrroger, you nailed it. Coaches are down and everyone can offer money. The lure of big southern schools in the middle of nowhere is no longer as attractive. A lot of SEC schools are gonna have to work a lot harder to get talent than they have in the past.

When I hear the middle of nowhere I usually think of teams like Nebraska, Wisconsin, or Kansas.

I’ll tell you why we don’t be dominate anymore.

We got a bunch of Pre Madonnas.

And then all you do is loose every big game!

becuase recruiting and player development, which the SEC was incomparably elite at, no longer matters as much as how much you're willing to pay teenagers. That's pretty much it.

Also, we have gone to a larger playoff system where teams have to prove it on the field. UGA didn't get to just automatically be placed into the semifinals like in past years.

2023 Michigan and 2025 Indiana were older teams that had played together for a while, in an era where that's rare.

2024 Ohio State was a meh team that just happened to be the last one standing. I wouldn't be shocked if an SEC team wins it all this year. The demise of the conference is much exaggerated.

LMAO!

So were Michigan and OSU "placed" in the semifinals in '21 and '22? When both lost to UGA...

ETA If UGA is remotely healthy at the end of '23 they boat race Michigan again in the playoffs.

Yep. One of my big pet peeves is "succeed" when the poster actually means "secede" during the civil war threads. Ok, now back to the regular programming.

This is funny, as a school not in the SEC. It means more because which schools are putting thousands of butts in seats regardless of outcome. It’s tradition, you can go outside and see youth sports practicing for miles here.

They bitch about baseball seedlings, I’m sorry my school averages 5k a baseball game and that’s not even in the top half of the SEC. But it’s definitely high compared to other conferences.

Learn to spell.

We need to have a contest between this numskull and that Mo Jeaux weirdo.

We need to see who is the most ignorant between the two.

Go to other boards on this site for a while. Hell go to any forums out there, maybe even read a shitty newspaper, then come back to this board. You’ll realize how retarded to a man every baw here is.

SEC supremacy was largely an illusion based on favorable geography, the perception of being an NFL factory and probably a few dollars exchanging hands under the table.

It wasn't an illusion or perception at all. It was truth. The SEC will always be an NFL factory, even in NIL era.

It is about coaching now. The SEC has struggled in that regard, that will change. It is def between the two conferences now, will go back and forth every few years. Both conferences have quite a few teams with coaches and financial support.
