Why is the addition of aTm going to ruin Arkansas' recruiting in Texas?

Back in the days of the SWC, Arkansas was the only school in the conference not located in the state of Texas. Not only was Arkansas fighting aTm for Texas recruits, they were also fighting the much more dangerous opponent in Austin. Not to mention Baylor, Rice, Tech, and SMU. Arky seemed to do alright seeing as how the only SWC opponent they don't have a winning record against is Texas.

How many championships has your solid Texas recruiting brought?

Drewbie are you running out of material in the off-season?

You guys have recruited Texas really well this class and last with aTm in the conference now.

if anything it will help your recruiting in DFW because the A&M/Arky game is about to play another 10 years at JerryWorld. I imagine y'all will now be taking many kids who would normally have gone to OU and Okie Light because of that.

I don't think it will have any worse effect than your Big Ten coach.

A&M's addition to the west diminishes their chances of ever winning greatly

We Aggies have moved on from Arkansas as a subject because the piggies aren't relevant at the moment.
Face it, you're butthurt over one comment that an Aggie poster made in another thread.
Congrats are in order for Palooza11, the man who rustled Drewbie's jimmies.

It won't at all. Arky's status as a mid tier program is in no danger.

I think at worst it relegates you to compete with the Texas Tech's and Oklahoma State's of the world. You won't be recruiting the same tier of talent as us, so I don't think we will really affect y'all too much.

I think it will help Arkansas, now that A&M is in the same conference. It will also help LSU and other SEC teams.
When Arkansas was in the SWC, you could promise a recruit that he would have plenty of opportunities to play in front of his family and friends.
When there were no Texas schools in the SEC, that was important. A lot of those recruits went to OU, Okie State, Missouri and other places.
I think Missouri will be SEC team hurt the most.
The SEC didn't want us because we are smart, intelligent and all around good guys (which we plead guilty).
They wanted us for the additional recruiting in Texas.
We had our on reasons to leave. It was win win.
Relax.. it's all good.

Keep living in your alternate reality and keep convincing yourself that Arkansas will always be better than A&M. You are in for a serious mind frick. You will keep telling yourself that aggy is not better, but I guarantee you right now that A&M just started a good winning streak against Arkansas (it can stretch anywhere from 4-10 years).
All of you have really underestimated my university's capability as a football power. We are in the process of building a stadium envied by many. Texas is a gold mine for elite level high school players. In just one year you can already see the recruiting landscape changing in this state. Sumlin will be at A&M for a good time. Everyone saying that he will jump to the NFL is either in denial, or concerned to a point that they want to spew fictitious information in order to "slow us down".
Stay in Texas, play in the best conference, have young/energetic coaches and if you are an offensive player, you will fit in nicely right away. Why? Its because the spread has taken over Texas high schools. Receivers going to A&M know that they will get their touches. We will run the ball a good amount as well (this year you will see) and our RBs will have good numbers. Defense spend so much time defending Johnny and our passing attack, that our RBs rush for big gains (happened last season).
A&M has become cool and attractive. Everyone wears A&M gear nowadays. frick, I was even surprised that homeless people have Aggie hats on (they are typically wearing Longhorn gear). "But, I've heard the term 'the sleeping giant has woken' countless of times in the 80s and 90s from aggy fans". Trust me dude, its different. You are in for a rude awakening.

Don't think it will hurt us.
I think the Oklahoma schools will see the hurt IMO. Mainly on the defensive side of the ball.
