Arkansas is just a fart in the wind when it come to Texas recruiting, but their efforts will improve with our addition to this fine conference.

Arky hasn't seen the results because of a bunch of hot piss and hiring of a Big Ten coach who's new to the area.

There are nearly 30 million people in texas.... No team will have trouble finding kids to recruit.

I think it will help. Nowhere to go but up. Those 3* that would normally head to KU, Iowa St or Mizzou may head to the nam now

Exactly this. If anything it will help Arkansas recruiting now that the conference will be more relevant in Texas. OU seems to be the odd man out here.

Arky recruiting will only improve...since they moved to the SEC in the early 90s Texas high school kids haven't known much about the hogs because simply...out of sight out of mind...and it's not like they tore it up in the SEC to become a national power. IMO Arkys move to the SEC at the time was a terrible move. They lost all relevance in TX recruiting almost over night.

No way was our move to the SEC a terrible move.
2 years in we had won a national title in a major sport, won our division in football 3 years in and started renovating athletic facilities at an unprecedented pace like never seen here before.

It was a great move for Arkansas. Much better than staying in the SWC and then going to the Big12.

Already have.

Mainly on the defensive side of the ball.

Stoops has addressed this. The Air Raid offense is flourishing in the State of Texas. Great place to find a QB, WR's, etc. The problem is finding a stout front 7 that can stop the run is difficult. The High Schoolers aren't trained for this.
This coupled with the B12 being viewed with amusement, the SEC being premiere, OU is on a sinking ship and there's nothing they can do about it. imo.

The ship is sinking or there's nothing they can do about it?

yeah I thought it was a ridiculously short-sighted viewpoint.

What do you mean, no?

They haven't had a defense in years. If they face a defense and can't score, they're toast. See the Cotton Bowl and last years Notre Dame game.

Oklahoma is one of the most overrated current programs in cfb

I'm not saying great things about them, I'm just taking issue with someone saying they're a "sinking ship" that is basically going to shite because aTm had one decent year.

I guess that's why it was included with the other part of the sentence you purposefully left out so you could dissect the sentence.

I don't think Oklahoma is a sinking ship. I think you see an ebb and flow with many programs. And I think your statement was ridiculous.

Good deal. Why?

I didn't say that nor give it as a reason. Perhaps it's a communication problem.

Yup. As dbt said they've had trouble getting defensive depth recently. Our resurgence recruiting wise as well as a few other factors has hurt them. Maybe it's not a sinking ship but this is not the OU of the early to mid 2000s
