re: Why is the addition of aTm going to ruin Arkansas' recruiting in Texas?

Yes, you dominated the SWC after Arkansas left and Texas was down.
Sometimes correlation is causation. Losing 10 out of 11, caused them to be down.

Addition of aTm will not have a negative impact...the addition of Bielema, however....

I'm sure the NCAA had nothing to do with this.
SMU was down because they cared more about academics, not because they were bitch slapped by the NCAA - Aggy logic.

O.k...now a serious response.
How many Tx kids has Arkansas signed recently?
2013 - 3 (all 3* players)
2012 - 5 (3x4*, 1x3* and 1xNR)
2011 - 5 (2x4*, 3x3*)
2010 - 4 (3x3*, 1x2*)
There will be plenty of 3&4* players left over in Texas after TU and aTm have picked through the ones they want. It isn't like Arkansas has a history of pulling 5* guys from Texas.

I was talking about texas university, not Southern Methodist University. From 84-94, there were 11 Lone Star Showdowns. Texas A&M University won 10 of them.

So tell me the only programs to not face NCAA sanctions from the SWC in football in the 80s.
Being caught cheating and hand cuffed by the NCAA had more to do with aTm's "dominance" than aTm reaching their "potential" as a program, even tho aTm's best teams at that time still couldn't beat Arkansas.

Why would sanctions in the 80s deliver a plethora of 10 win season to the Aggies in the 90s. Didn't A&M deal with sanctions as well? You're confusing me.

So now you've changed from "A&M was never dominant", to "A&M was only dominant when they cheated"? Following the longhorn script pretty closely, aren't you?
A&M was dominant when we were getting great players. Cheating played a part of that, but only Arkansas, Baylor and Rice escaped sanctions during that period. Congrats.
Now A&M is getting the great players because we've got some of the best facilities in football (and getting better), we have a good coach that's a great recruiter, and we're in the SEC. Also great fan support, great academics, etc.

Remember, when you change the starting date of series, aggy actually has the series lead over Texas and Arkansas, First tier since 1979 and 2012.
Aggy logic.

Are we talking recruiting on on field performance? They are linked but not the same. A&M certainly got the 1st Tier recruits in Texas from the Mid 80s until the late 90's and has also done so for the last 3 classes, each year better than the last. More importantly as long as A&M is in the SEC, is building a ridiculous new stadium, and is winning of course they are going to get that first tier.
The '00s were more of the exception than the rule since A&M allowed women to attend. In the State of Texas you have 2 true Flagship Universities that really tower over the rest now by a good margin. OOS power programs will always get some as they do in every state but the future points to the current dynamic of A&M and Texas dominating over everyone else. Most kids want to stay in state and the big public schools in each state always benefit unless you have a USC or Notre Dame type private school with a huge football tradition which Texas does not.
The bigger point though is Texas will soon have 30 million people in it and that means a lot of talent to go around. A&M and Texas can't take them all just as UF, Miami, and FSU can't in Florida.
