Because of the way they lost. They also looked like they didn't get any better from game 1 to game 12.
True...really frustrating to watch. D got a little better but it's like slightly less stinky shite. It's still shite and it still stinks. I don't know who considers the season a complete failure other than message board idiots but if they do, I would imagine it's because we got our asses kicked by our biggest rivals. The record is part of it...I think you will hear that after a National champ follows that season with 7-5, regardless of the circumstances but add the blowouts to our top 3 rivals...

I just don't think he will be ready to win games next year. The season is over, not much was accomplished, and you got another inexperienced QB to deal with next season. I'm not a coach but that doesn't seem too logical to me.

They were never really in sync.

When Offense was good, defense was bad and vice versa.

The blowouts were really what stood out. It's like they knew they were going to lose and regressed when the score went up.

Given they were fortunate to win the first game against Utah St. I'd say their season wasn't a failure.

I did not consider it a failure or a success ... It was what it was.

Chiz has had two full recruiting years, those guys were either Freshmen, Redshirt Freshmen or Sophomores.

Tubs took two years off recruiting (This years Juniors and above.)and Sa$an kicked his A$$ 36-0. Our numbers were below D1-AA.

7-5 is NOT acceptable regardless of the expectations, but not sure it was a failure when you beat USCe (top 10) and Florida. 3 of the losses were to top 10 teams.

Why do Bammers care so much about little Auburn? Seems like they may have a bigger game to play for.

That's not true. A few crazies might have. Most people said worst case 6-6, best case 8-4.

What do YOU consider 7-5?

And when the crown jewel of one of those recruiting classes puts up stats like these:

you finish 7-5 and get blown out of a few games

People expected the defense to suck. No one really expected the offense to suck this badly. A lot of AU fans were saying that Gus had an offense with Chris fricking Todd and that y'all would be fine with Trotter/Moseley/Frazier. That didn't work out so well.

The season ended up better than a lot expected (could have lost to USU, MSU, USCe, and maybe a healthy UF), but a lot of people are unsure about the offense going forward.

You can't be serious. I saw more 4-8's than 6-6
