How many years in a row now has AU had really good recruiting rankings? Those guys have had time. But yes Auburn lost a ton. Not many teams could compete after losing that much. I just wanted to throw out what Alabama lost cause I think it's unbelievable that they are this much better. Those are huge positions.

What was weird about Auburn is they would show promise and then make awful plays. They'd hold their own then wouldn't be able to compete.

well you have tied, LSU's record for most loses after a Championship, with a chance to break it. so you've got that going for you.

It also shows how bad of a two man show y'all were last year.

Not really. But we also had a numbers crunch do to 2 really bad years in not only recruiting but getting players qualified.

Yep. Pretty frustrating to watch. Execution, coaching, etc. was all maddening this season.

Yes we had more wins then expected, but losing so badly against our Divisio Rivals, and UGA the way we did was a failure to me. No it wouldn't have been a moral victory had we kept them close, but it would have made 2012 look a lot more hopeful.

I had expected so much more competitiveness and it didn't happen. I don't consider it as a complete failure though.

Because we lost almost 30 players and all but about 5 starters?

would take a loss by that margin every year to know that we would never blow a 24-0 lead at halftime

I was left scratching my head at most of Auburn's play calling.

1st down - run up the gut with Dyer

2nd down - sweep to McCalleb

3rd down - Throw or draw play with Kiehl

The worst play I seen this year from Auburn was that 4th and short against Alabama.

Wildcat to Dyer.........hike it 5 yards back?

Yeah I looked it up they were something like 7, 19, 20, 7, 3 from 2007 to 2011. They need another year to develop. Why the heck didn't Frazier play more??? Y'all are a good QB from being WAY better next year. But if he struggles just a little bit it'll be really hard to win the big games.

I can't find the link, but Phil Steele had two different metrics that rated Auburn the youngest team in the country.

Not the record FWIW, that would be a 12 loss team the year after

Yeah, and GT was #2.

Wasn't the best year I've had as a football fan

What really threw me off was that 3rd and 7 ( I think ) when they just ran straight up the middle for no gain and punted. That just isn't like them. Do you remember how they came out in 09? They were unstoppable for a while there.

Dude didn't go thru a Spring...knew about 25% of the playbook. Was out there thinking too much, unable to play instinctively like a player would who knew the plays very well. He didn't even know the 25% of the playbook that he did know, well. There is a reason that he was one of the top QB's in the country coming out of HS..as well as Pike. My understanding is that Pike will enroll early? So we'll have one or two highly recruited qb's that ought to know the playbook very well and be very comfortable next year. That is only one piece to the puzzle but a very important one...the other pieces are coming together pretty well also. Best thing that happened is Roof gone.

Going into the season, most people predicted AU would go 6-6 at best. Considering the schedule and youth, why is AU's season considered a failure?

I don't know about failure, but there were a few blowouts.

Because of the way they lost. They also looked like they didn't get any better from game 1 to game 12.
