Ok, how's this. I propose that the SEC allows LSU to pick who their perma cross division match-up will be from now on. So, who's it going to be LSU? Vandy or Kentucky?

That way everyone wins. LSU will quit whining and Bama/UT/AU/UGA get to keep their rivalries.

I dont think very many Bama fans care if you play Florida every year or if we play Florida more often. We simply want to keep playing UT every year, and keeping permanent rivals ensures that this happens.

We don't want an easier cross division opponent, we just want it to be roughly equal. How is that "whining"? You think we should just take our tougher road and be happy about it? Well frick you that's not going to happen, and no amount of weak arse "you're pussies" arguments is going to change that. YOU'RE the pussies as far as I'm concerned for fighting so hard for an easier road.

The LSU vs FL game has no impact on who wins the West unless LSU (or whatever West team) fails to win the other games. If LSU loses to FL but wins out in their other SEC games they will be in the SECCG so your argument does not hold water.

Saban isnt afraid of big games he actually wants a big opponent two every season. Thats why he scheduled Clemson, VA Tech, Penn State, and Michigan because at the time they scheduled them they had a lot of hype and at least top 10 ranking. Saban loves the drive and motivation that a big game gives the players and the momentum that a team can have from beating a big opponent early on. I think much of the success in the 2008 season came from the momentum the team gained from beating Clemson and that is what gave them the drive to beat UGA. That 2008 UGA team was awesome and i couldnt believe we beat them.

EXACTLY - We don't give a frick if we play Florida ---- we've played them 6 times in the past 7 seasons. We just want to continue on playing our biggest rival every year.

Attacking me personally just reinforces that you have no argument and you know it.

It does go both ways if you really look at the LSU argument without immediately yelling "butthurt," "pussies," etc. LSU wants an easier road and so do the other teams, so everyone yells at each other.

I think that LSU should just do their thing and beat Florida every year. Alabama too.

Alabama has to have special circumstances to get back in the championship game now - Top 4 teams, no guarantee of conference champions, play Tennessee as their permanent opponent every year while LSU plays Florida, etc. After November, it will be 3 years in a row that LSU will have beaten Alabama in the regular season and Bama is getting shut out of championship games in the traditional way - so they have to make sure that the landscape is tilted toward them just so they have a fighting chance.

Makes sense, actually.

Well guess what bammers.... With this set up you now only get FLA once every 6 years! Hope you had fun playing them so much recently....w/o a doubt Bama will be sitting the prettiest with a 6-1-1 format and they know it. If the tables were turned Saban would do the same as Miles in this situation.

Ultimately, I don't think any LSU fan will have a problem with Bama having UT and LSU having UF every year once UT is back to respectability.

It is when one of the Big 6 fall off the map, like UT lately and LSU in the 90's, that you have a mis-match in the "fairness" of the permanent opponent.

Personally, I am happy with Bama keeping UT if only because it will serve to slow down UT from playing for SEC Championships and give LSU a chance to pass them for 2nd all time in SEC titles.
