Bc one is a really good QB playing QB (Dak) and the other is a really good athlete playing QB (Tebow)

If you saw Daks progression as a passer between 2014 and 2015 you wouldn’t be as surprised. He really became more efficient and made some throws in 2015 that were impressive NFL caliber throws.

This. Dak as a passer in 2015 was night and day better than his play in 2014.

Dak had one SEC caliber receiver while he was at MSU. 2014 could have turned out a lot different if he would have had three average SEC receivers.

Some Tebow games were randomly on ESPN the other day (Vs. Oklahoma, Vs. ole miss), and I was surprised at how slow and boring those Florida offenses seem now. Maybe just spoiler from the last few years of CFB, but it looked like 50% QB dives and 25% misdirection, quick read passes for 5-10 yards.

Tebow was a beast, but he certainly benefitted from the outrageous, some would say criminal, talent around him—which you can’t fault the guy for—but the NFL isn’t suited for that type of player.

Sorry pal Ma-home-boy has normal sized hands for an NFL QB, not tiny hands like Joe LSU

Lets take a look at the hand sizes of the starting quarterbacks from the NFL conference championships in 2020, shall we?

Patrick Mahomes: 9.25 inches
Ryan Tannehill: 9 inches
Lamar Jackson: 9.50 inches
Jimmy Garoppolo: 9.25 inches

Joe Burrow: 9 inches

Also Dak's hands measured out at 10.5 or 10.75 inches , among the largest hands among NFL QBs, up there with Russ Wilson

Tebow has tiny hands

Tim Tebow: 10.13 inches
Russell Wilson: 10.25 inches

Tebow was excellent at running the zone read. He did not have an NFL. His release was not up to NFL caliber. Anyway... great college QB. DAK always could throw the ball better than Tebow.. DAK is still only an average NFL QB on a very talented NFL team..

I think Dak Prescott being what he is in the NFL is actually shocking.

No kidding. His lousy play in 2004 is the only reason Arkansas won that game.

Was Tebow only good because he played on some of the most talented teams in history?

Tebow fit that offense perfectly but Percy Harvin was the real star. Tebow wasn’t as good without Harvin. Percy made key plays in several close Gator games in the 2008 season.

Arm strength was Tebow’s problem. Mechanics, accuracy and reading defenses were Tebow’s issues.

Tebow was a playmaker who couldn't run an offense.

Dak can run an offense and he can make plays.

Because in college Tebow somehow threw a football end-over-end like a kickoff, and people still thought he was a QB. Now Dak doesn't have the tightest spiral, but he can make a forward pass.

Even if the pig poster meant to say 2014, Arkansas didn’t even beat MSU in 2014. That poster is most likely just methed out.

Dak is just better than Tebow overall, but he didn’t have the natural talent and athleticism that allowed Tebow to become a college legend right from the start.

Lower floor, higher ceiling basically. Dak is where he is partially because of work ethic. he had to climb to get there.

Dak is much smarter than Tebow. Tebow also played for the most talented Florida team in their history and was the lowest man on the totem pole. Put Dak on that team or hell even Nick Fitzgerald and they win the Heisman going away all 4 years

I guess all the great players must have left with Tebow as well because MSU beat Florida in the Swamp the year after he left.
