Flying to Munich this evening - business class on Lufthansa's A380 (the older layout)... 70k points + $130 via Aeroplan.
We have reservations in the Shottenhammel and Lowenbrau tents throughout the week.
Dinner reservations at Tantris on Saturday night, hitting up Augustiner Keller one evening, and some dumpling place a friend reserved and I forgot the name of.
Visit to Neuschwanstein set for Wednesday.
I'll attempt my best H2O Tiger impression and see if I can post pictures in here. I don't promise his type of results, but I'll do my best.
Prost!

Loved seeing the fight in this team. Halftime was good for them. They were too preoccupied with the no calls and fouls and weren’t playing the game. They came out in the second half with more focus.
Unlucky not to have two goals before the half. And did a great Liverpool impression by scoring late goals to win the game.
Fun game. That St. James crowd is always impressive.
When the schedule came out, we always knew these first six games were TOUGH. And if you had told me we’d be in second place and two points back after these first six fixtures, I would have taken it in a heartbeat. Especially if I had known Saka and Odegaard and Saliba and, etc., would be injured for one or more games.

Wow! I could have done without watching that, hahaha

Why did you have to go there? I wasn’t prepared. And now I won’t be able to sleep without horrific nightmares.
We are so fortunate now
I live here. Like you mentioned, all the government and federally funded buildings would be closed (Smithsonians, Capitol, White House, Library of Congress) and tours at the Washington monument would be canceled, and the bathrooms on the national mall would be closed.
But you should still be able to enjoy seeing and walking around the National Mall and seeing all the monuments. The National Park Service has already insinuated that they won’t barricade anything. Mount Vernon is privately owned and will be open (and absolutely beautiful in mid Oct), the International Spy Museum is private and fun. Arlington National Cemetery will likely remain open.
We’re a foodie town now anyway. Amazing restaurants everywhere you turn. So you can still have an incredible time

re: Quitting Social Media -- Experiences

I got off of both instagram and facebook about a year ago. I guess I still have the accounts, but I deleted both apps from my phone. I haven't accessed either app since.
My access to social media now is limited to this site and the occasional X search for something related to work.
I also stopped 'watching' the news several years ago. I realized I didn't need to learn about a topic by listening to 7 people yell at each other for an hour, and then a different 7 people yell at each other during the next hour.
I typically read the WSJ to stay up on current events.
I can tell that I'm much less partisan now than I was beforehand. Not everything I experience gets framed via a political lens, which has been nice. In addition, I have a lot of time back, I had no idea how much time I actually spent on those apps. I've replaced it with more sleep (no more late night doom scrolling), exercise, and actual conversation with my wife and kids.
I do no miss it at all and don't ever see myself going back.

How early we talking for hotels, same time as the tables?
For hotels and airbnbs, I'd start looking pretty soon for next year, honestly. Nov - Jan airbnb listings should be available for next year's Weisn and hotels as well, especially the Marriott and Hilton brands

LSU fans are great to hang out with and usually pretty good people. Once the game starts though, they may spit and piss on you and tell your grandmother what a whore she is.
This game needs to move back to be close to Halloween.

Is there a centralized table booking site, or is it by biergarten? I presume you can usually just book seats (we'll be 2) and not whole tables, right? Or do you just book the table and let your new friends buy you rounds?
Each tent conducts its own reservations with different timetables and pricing.
Here is a site that compiles URLs for all the tents, each of which will provide you with instructions on how to reserve spots. I'm not sure how many allow seats vs. tables.
Like Mizzou said, reservations tend to become available in the March/April timeframe. Augustiner opens reservations up to members (and previous guests) first and tend to be difficult to obtain.
Consolidated Oktoberfest Tent Reservation Info
I'll be there with a large group.
Oct. 2 - three tables at Shottenhamel
Oct. 3 - four tables at Lowenbrau
We love Munich and will be strolling around town and taking it all in the other days. I'm excited to try Tantris while we're there.
Prost!

Florida had them tied late in the 4th quarter at home, and we know they’re a very bad football game.
The season will work itself out and rankings will settle after a few weeks. But there’s no need to lie.
LSU was up on Florida, 13-10, at halftime and 20-10 midway through the third quarter, which was the final score. Then LSU took a knee at the two yard line with about two minutes left in the game to run out the clock.
It’s a long season. No need to get your panties in a wad over rankings in September

What does “Baren” mean?
I've used LiveFootballTickets.co.uk on several occasions. It's always worked well for me. SeatPick is a site that consolidates all the secondary markets in one website (StubHub, Vivid Seats, LiveFootballTickets, etc) and displays available tickets from each.
The seconadry market marks the price up tremendously, but since I schedule my trips to the Emirates in advance, I'm willing to pay the absurd prices.
I've got a group heading to the NLD this year. We are doing the Legends Tour of Emirates Stadium on Friday, and the game is currently scheduled for Saturday, although it may get flexed to Sunday. We're staying at an Airbnb in the old Highbury. This is my first time to do that, and I'm over the moon excited.
ETA: I was a bit worried about the secondary market over there at first. I suppose there’s still a risk involved. My experiences have been positive, but just take my post for what it is… my limited experiences have been positive. I can’t speak for all experiences.

The part with the Notre Dame holder. That was great. I kept thinking during the broadcast how they kept showing him every minute or so. NBC wanted to make sure he got the full blame if ND were to lose. They nailed that one in this piece
I think that’s BS. Had we won 45-35, with the defense playing poorly, the fans would be ecstatic right now. Fans love offense and are willing to dismiss poor defense over poor offense.
