Poppycock, one of those seasons we won, multiple East teams ended up ranked in the top 10. I'm all for leaving it in Atlanta but don't attempt to rationalize your position with revisionist history.

1. Location - easy drive for most of the SEC universities
2. Airport - busiest in the country with flights all over the US
3. Stadium - MB is fairly new with a retractable roof
4. Large alumni base for all the schools
5. Hotels
I could see the SECCG rotating with Nashville if the city approves a new stadium and/or Dallas, especially after UTA and OK join the league

Currently, the Geographic Center of the SEC is in Blounstville, AL. So, for the cities you mentioned...how far are they from the Center of the Conference?
Atlanta - 161 Miles
New Orleans - 392 Miles
Nashville - 160 Miles
And other major cities in the SEC footprint
Memphis - 229 Miles
Louisville - 334 Mils
St. Louis - 468 Miles
Jacksonville - 505 Miles
Dallas - 684 Miles
So...for the current geographic center...Atlanta or Nashville make the most sense.
If you add Texas and Oklahoma to the mix...the geographic center moves to approximately 12 miles East of Oxford, Mississippi.
That makes the distances:
Atlanta - 374 Miles
Nashville - 236 Miles
New Orleans - 354 Miles
St. Louis - 372 Miles
Memphis - 89 Miles
Dallas - 542 Miles
So, Memphis (which sucks...so that's a No) or Nashville make the most sense.

I don't believe the conference will ever attempt to hold the SECCG in an outdoor stadium. Weather in Dec is always iffy. The SEC will not let the ACC get a toehold in ATL. The ACC would move their game to ATL in a heartbeat, given a chance.
ATL has all of the infrastructure in place to hold such an event. So the question is - why would they ever want to move the game from ATL?

Why not rotate it annually among Atlanta, New Orleans and Nashville? Or maybe Houston as well?
You ever been in Nashville in Dec? Could be nice, could be 30 degrees. Plus the stadium doesnt hold enough and a ton of the SECCG tickets are auto renewals, like mine, so the stadium would have to hold what the MBD does. A bigger reason is Atlanta is probably the easiest airport to get to.
As far as Houston, just, no. Thats Big 12 country in my mind.
As far as UGA's "advantage'". Thats overblown. Home field advantage is the biggest overrated "advantage" in sports. The best team om that day wins no matter where they play. Every time Bama has played UGA in the dome it was a UGA home game but it mattered none.

Because shite like “let’s hold the basketball tournament in Tampa!” happens.
Just because you live in the middle of nowhere doesn’t mean we should change for you.

They're about to build a new stadium in Nashville (and raise the shite out of my taxes) and I would bet it is a dome because that city is power hungry and has eyes on the super bowl

Let’s have it in Jackson at Memorial Stadium. We can all participate in dodging gang warfare in Mississippi’s fare capital city.

Because there is no better option in terms of stadium quality, atmosphere, location, and ease of access. The SECCG is the best championship event on that weekend. We shouldn’t frick it up by moving it.

I don't think JB Pennington High School is ready to host the SEC Championship Game just yet.

I get that Atlanta is somewhat of a central location in the SEC, but not for fans from aTm, Arkansas and Missouri -- and soon, Texas and Oklahoma. After those 2 schools join, Dallas should also be considered for the SECCG on a rotational basis.

All of you guys are going to have to accept that you will never be real SEC. At least not until this current generation of fans is dead and gone.

Don't worry, as a Vol fan, you'll never have to worry about going there for the SECCG anyway

2013 and 2014 are the true dark days for the SEC East.
Florida had fallen, UGA was still middling, Tennessee was still Tennesseeing, and South Carolina had fallen off their brief perch.
2013 saw Missouri and SC finish Top 10... Wow, what a who's who of vaunted SEC programs.
2014 saw Georgia as the only east team to finish in the top ten, and that was our team that spanked y'all 34-0 without Todd Gurley, and also the same team that got railroaded by Florida and gave it up to Tech. Not exactly the UGA of recent vintage.
Missouri took advantage while the traditional Eastern powers struggled to pull their dicks out of their own asses, but order was quickly restored.

I'm ok with a rotation but New Orleans shouldn't be on it. New Orleans is a friggin cess pool and one wrong turn in the French Quarter at night and you'll wind up dead or some transvestites bitch.
