I think Louisiana is nice, convenient too..... not many areas where you can stop in one spot for Bait n Vape,Tattoo touchup, Smoked Mullet, Used tires etc.

Very nice.

This is not a troll. Genuine curiosity.

I'll answer assuming you're asking in good faith.

In general, people in south Louisiana grow up and never leave. It's extended family cookouts, building a house on family land, owning a family business, etc.

It's the total opposite of a highly transient place like Denver where nobody is actually from there and might only be there for 3-5 years before moving on to Austin or Nashville etc.

You kind of have to live here a while to fully get it.

The crime is bad in certain areas (especially north BR), but there are a lot of nice areas too. Highland Rd from campus all the way to Airline Hwy near Prairieville is a 12-mile strip with million dollar houses on both sides (Saban's house was one of them).

There are problems, but there are good people here trying to make it better.

ETA: campus has seen upgrades to certain areas lately.. It still needs a lot more love, but the Nicholson Gateway project came out very nice:

Louisiana is a culturally rich state.

That usually means ghetto, but the person saying it is trying to spin it positively.

Your state voted B Clinton (rapist, pathological liar, friend of the island and young girls) in for Governor for 8 2 year terms, I think. Enough said.

I love how the retards of the SECr act like Baton Rouge, a state capital with a metro population over 800k, is supposed to be judged with the metrics of being a quaint, good ole southern, cousin-fricking hick town where good ole boys drink coffee at the local diner and talk about the big game that weekend

You think Indiana fans are on Big10rant.com asking UCLA fans why Los Angeles is so much trashier than Bloomington?

Man there's trashy places in every state. I just spent a week in Montgomery, Prattville, Wetumpka, Selma, and surrounded areas. They have plenty of bama flag in those places where there's nothing but trash.

I would bet it is like most places

Less populated cities are nice to live in, big cities suck. I know it may not be a pop opinion..but I could never imagine living in cities like NYC, Boston, ATL, Orlando, Los Angelis, Houston, etc.

I like the middle ground...like Ocala FL, Warner Robins, GA, Key West, Gatelingurg Tenn, etc

You ever been to the WWC? It’s a pretty sweet spot

Yes, I whitewater kayak too, and have a year round membership to the Whitewater Center. I have a daughter and family who live close to there too, so I like to mountain bike, and kayak at the WWC when I visit my daughter’s family, including my new grandson…Cool place!

Baton Rouge is about 10 years behind Jackson, MS. Jackson used to be a great place to live with a few bad areas. Now it’s
a poor place to live with few good areas.
Memphis, Birmingham, Little Rock, it’s all the same. Don’t think that culture make you immune.

BR is a cool college town smashed against a shitty southern city.

If you stay in the college town ish parts it’s fine.

Why does it make you mad that LSU has a much better athletic program than Arkansas does?

Why not just accept it and move on with your life?

I’ll follow up from my original post: have Arkansas people traveled anywhere outside of a border state?!?!? Arkansas seriously isn’t even a top 20 state for beauty.

Congrats on being famous for two dystopian corporations that ruin mom and pop farms and local stores fricking idiots

Great question. No joke, why would anyone move from Oxford, MS to Baton Rouge, LA when he could make $10 mil plus in Oxford. Only a greedy fool would.
