It's similar to when he said Lane wasn't coming to LSU, then Lane was but no other coaches, then no players at all, Chris Kiffin would be the DC, Charlie Weis was staying, Joe Cox was staying, on and on...
Reality is a painful mistress. It's why Ole Miss fans love their stories so much.

To be honest, a lot of the worst Ole Miss takes are gone now because they were on the Coaching Changes board. There was absolute delusion posted there.

They hate him like everybody else

I get what you're doing and I dont blame you.
Chambliss looked like a stud thus Kiffin the genius.
Those are the rules

Anybody that thinks ole miss is the winner in all of this is delusional.

Why did zero offensive starters follow Lane Kiffin to LSU?

They won’t be w/o Kiffin, especially Lacy. He’s just a good player, not a great player

Ole Miss had been virtually irrelevant for over 60 years until Lane arrived. Since 1963 the Rebs had three 10 win seasons prior to Kiffin, while in the 6 years he was there, they had FOUR 10 win seasons. That's why Kiffin is highly regarded.
Chambliss didn't make Kiffin, Kiffin made Chambliss.

We’re stacked with talent on offense. Just need new players to gel in new system. Once we get past Clemson unscathed they’ll be really good.

I hope LSU beats Clemson soundly. 64-0 sounds appealing!! .

Let’s be serious. The reason Lane is successful with the portal is because he’s kind of an arse. His players won’t follow him from one job to the next and they only need to last a year or two under the “buy a mercenary” system. Brilliant for assholes like him and Schloss for example.
None of Schloss’s players follow him, and none have anything good to say about him either when they leave. Lane is more of a wierd duck but the same applies. Sorry if this offends LSU fans but it is true.

That's why I called Kiffin "Lame Kiffin".

I think people overestimate the influence a head coach has on the average player. A player has far more interaction with his position coaches and coordinators. If a coordinator/assistant is staying at the school, and the staff is staying intact for the most part, as with Ole Miss, why leave?
There weren't a ton of offensive starters at Ole Miss, that were returning and would be better than what LSU can get. That list is very small, maybe just Chambliss and Lacy.
Chambliss didn't know if he'd receive his 6th year so that basically leaves Lacy as the "player" who didn't follow Lane.

Ole Miss just picked up its 13th 4 star in June. Lane never had more than a couple 4 stars committed in June at any point in his tenure at Ole Miss.
So you're shitting on Lane for not bringing many players with him from Ole Miss, but you're also shittng on Lane for not recruiting many highly rated players to Ole Miss in the first place? Should we bring this to its logical conclusion?

Ole Miss stacked, LSU F’ddddd!

Yeah, Kirby was awful and Bama didn't win any titles with Smart.

Of course this has nothing to do with the halo effect of last year's success, brought to you by.... Lane Kiffin.
Face it, you don't know what kind of success Golding will have at Ole Miss. See Larry Coker and Gene Chizik, both considered to be great assistants who had immediate success and then went down in flames.
I'm not saying Ole Miss won't continue to be relevant. Golding was tutored by Saban and he learned a thing or two about building a roster in the NIL and transfer portal era under Kiffin. Ole Miss has NIL resources. You just need to get over your butthurt about Kiffin leaving and acting like he had nothing to do with your recent success.

I would guess it was due to money. That is all that matters now honestly, sadly.

Those two are the two best players on offense.
