Because a-hole coaching staffs at State, LSU and other SEC schools were using it to negatively recruit against us. Tubberville was very vocal about it.

You never cave in!! Until people are recruiting against you and you damn near end up like Vandy without the academics. That was my mascot growing up and the south will rise again was last said in the stadium while I was a student but there’s no way in hell for Ole Miss to have any serious success in all sports it needed to be done.

LSU 2019 and all that but we’ve made 3 access bowls since the College Football Playoff started.
Bama, Georgia, Florida, and Ole Miss are the only ones to have 3 appearances. That’s with the shite end of Freeze and the Luke teams with sanctions and a terrible coach
