Bobo called a fantastic game tonight. Gunner executed the game with precision and style.18/22 - 249 yards. Dwight Phillips ran like a champion! 17 carries for 120 yards. 7.1 ypc.
Not one serious flaw in the game for the Dawgs!

Bobo called a great game. He ran the shite out of Peanut, but

He”s gotta find something else to run off that tunnel screen look. Everyone knows the look and They Teed off on it tonight

Can't say enough how well Phillips played. But a player that nobody seems to be talking about is Bo Walker. He ran the ball with a purpose, too. Power and speed. The future looks good with those two.

Stockton was threading the needle, too. Made some amazing passes, and the receivers made some unbelievable catches. Kudos all around.

That might have been Bobo's best game ever. 455 total yards against Bama without our #1 and #2 RB was remarkable. Bobo deserves all the praise today. This offense was ready!

My only frustration with the offense last night was all the penalties. Killed a couple of great TD chances, and called one back.

Missing #1 and #2 running back.
Missing #1 and #2 X receiver.

If I have learned anything about football while playing Alabama, injuries to X receivers trump everything. It is unpossible to win with an injured X receiver. Everything is rigged.

The very first pass play of the game was a fake screen that popped Luckie wide open downfield for 26 yards

Is that why he runs so many bubble screens is to setup the first play against Bama?

In all seriousness, great play call and I don’t know the statistics but I feel like they have ran less of those screens this year..

It tires a defense.
And brakes their gameplan.

What is goal #1 for every opponent facing our offense? Honest question.

It is more part of the running game and makes their defense have to respect a lot of things. A lot of runs and pass plays are based off that formation and play start. Plus, with injured RBs, it takes the load off of them. It was a great called game with what he had and what was given.

LOL. He runs the screens to setup stuff against everyone. I had a thread going here last season in which I was posting all of the big plays off of fake screens.

Beat the bejesus out of Stockton and see how good the backup QBs are? Of course, battering the opponent's QB1 is a pretty solid plan for any defense against any offense.

That isn't the answer that I expected.
I doubt it is the #1 goal for any DC that we have faced the last 22 games.

But maybe you are right.

Based on what i have seen the past 22 games, goal #1 is to stop the run.
Stunt or load the box. But force Gunner to win the game.

Screen game doesn’t work against physical athletes that can get off blocks; tackle in open space.

It depends on what coverage they are in… and that is why Gunnar is so valuable as a QB… he knows what call to put us in.

He has done a great job at the line of scrimmage getting us in the right play.

I think there was 1 time that he was baited to change the play and it played right into a post snap rotation.

But the other coach gets to try to win, too.

yah, Bobo is going to get flack until he wins a natty. He's in his 2nd tenure and 12th season as OC - fair or not. I do think he is better than Chaney. It's obvious Gunner and Bobo are on the same page. Kind of like Murray was with Bobo. There is just a lot of good check downs and reads by Gunner this year.
