He essentially played against all the bottom dwellers last year.

He played the 5th, 6th, and 10th passing defenses in the SEC. And the #8 total defense in the country. Not the best competition but not bottom feeders either

ESPN total QBR accounts for strength of opposing defense.

Corral threw 11 combined INTs to LSU and Arkansas

We kept him somehow, which was massive. He will be a legit head coach one day. Kiffin definitely runs our offense but Lebby has a ton of input when designing plays, and he has an incredible relationship with Corral and the other guys on offense. If Kiffin were to leave us next year, my #1 candidate would be Lebby

I agree, he seems to be a great coach and they were obviously clicking on all cylinders last year despite having no offseason.

I expect Corral will have the best stats and may be the best qb. I think the Alabama qb will probably be in the conversation for best qb by the end of the season. I expect that to be Young but from what I have read Tyson may be better than many of us expected.

On talent, Corral is the best returning QB in the conference, hands-down.

Maybe. There are a few 5* QBs in the conference that may be more talented but simply haven't had a chance to prove it yet.

Hopefully we can field a defense that won’t make him feel like he has to make every play.

I think he is smart but he gets so rattled. If he throws an interception to start the game, its over. Hopefully a full offseason with Kiffin helps the mental game. The kid is a talent for sure

Corral was the third best QB in the SEC last year.

PFF agrees, PFF overall grades for SEC QBs last year who had at least 100 attempts:

1. Mac Jones - 95.8
2. Kyle Trask - 92.2
3. Matt Corral - 90.5
4. JT Daniels - 88.3
5. Myles Brennan - 87.5

6. Kellen Mond - 81.7
7. Max Johnson - 78.5
8. Collin Hill - 76.9
9. Connor Bazelak - 75.6
10. Bo Nix - 73.4

Bolded the returning QBs.

Also fun to note, despite Corral's high amount of INTs, they charted Corral with 3.8% total turnover worthy plays vs. Daniels at 4.4%. So they thought Daniels was more risky.

The best QB in 2021 will be the one with the best receiving corps. Even without Pickens Daniels will have a very talented group to throw to. The Georgia OL should be able to pass block well. The key will be a run game that can take pressure off the passing game.

Lane Kiffin gives Corral an extra edge

Also depends on how much Kiffin allows him to improvise with his feet rather than forcing throws.

Dude has got some wheels.

I'm pretty sure 0% of people outside of UGA fans think UGA has the best receiving corps in the SEC next year without their best receiver in Pickens.

I get there's a lot of unproven guys as so many talented guys are leaving, but without Pickens there's nothing really that special about UGA's corps.

I think part of that was a product of the defense being so bad he felt like he had to score every drive or they would lose.

That's gonna be us this year.

Getting JT with a full actual summer of learning Monken's playbook will be interesting to say the least and JT is the type of guy Monken has always wanted.

JT could have a fantastic year if shite doesn't go sideways

"Proven" is subjective
Jermaine Burton took over the Miss St game as a true freshman got 8 catches and 197 yards (2 TDs). He is a better overall receiver than pickens (not better on 50/50s).

Dominick Blaylock had 5 TDs as a true freshman and was the #2 to Pickens in 2019

Kearis Jackson is a senior and our leading receiver for 2020 (at the slot).

Arian Smith is averaging 43 yards per catch and like Pickens will command safety attention.

We have receiving targets at TE and RB that can take over 2 minute drills as well.

Bryce Young and Corral.

Daniels is overhyped shite, and you can quote me. Why would we expect anything less from UGA than overhyped shite?

I know Pickens was a little disappointing last season but come on, Burton disappeared by the end of the year after that MSU game. We all know Pickens is the playmaker in that corps. And MSU was playing freaking walk ons in the secondary that game. They had what like 40 something scholarship players total in that game? That's the only game Burton really showed out in as well the whole season.

You have a solid group, but again, without Pickens it's not really scaring anyone. I'm not saying it's garbage, but again, no one will be saying UGA has the best WR corps without Pickens this year in the SEC.

Also I got a good laugh out of even mentioning a guy with 2 career catches citing his "yards per catch"

Also with my "unproven" guys I was talking about the conference as a whole, not UGA. I figure why some of you UGA fans still think you may have the best receiving corps even without Pickens is you return everyone basically. Where as a lot of big time talent is leaving the conference right now from other teams.
