Who will be the best SEC quarterback in 2021?

Obviously Bammers are high on Bryce Young and with good reason, lot of question marks about new faces along the offensive line, receiver, and at OC.
LSU is enthusiastic about Brennan and/or Johnson but the receiver group right now is basically Boutte and a bunch of guys. Lots of questions about the offensive line and a first time playcaller.
Aggie returns a lot of offensive experience except along the line and they are super high on their kid, who seems to be a hell of an athlete.
The kid at State looked really talented in limited action last year.
Big question at Florida but a running quarterback probably fits Mullen's system better.
My vote would either go to Daniels at Georgia (although the loss of Pickens hurts a ton) or maybe Matt Corral at Ole Miss.
Ole Miss lost some pieces but I think Lane Kiffin gives Corral an extra edge.

Corral was the third best QB in the SEC last year.
Seems like another year in Kiffin's system definitely seems like he will be the odds on favorite.

If Corral can cut down on the interceptions, would be him.

Obviously it's not Marshall, Jefferson, and Chase - but I think it's slightly better than you're giving us credit for. Moore and Jenkins are solid. Who knows what we'll get out of Trey Palmer.
I can't shake the sense that it'll be Johnson over Brennan. And I wouldn't hate that tbh.

Yes, 14 interceptions was a lot for an 11 game season although at least 5 of them came in one game.

When will folks stop acting like Bama is “normal” in regard to turnover?

The serious answer based on stats and system is Corral.
Corral and Ole Miss led the SEC in offense last year, not a stretch at all to say he continues that after actually going through an offseason with Kiffin.

If Brennan does win the job, I'm sure you'll see plenty of packages or drives where Max gets live game snaps.

Such a weird year for him.
I've never seen a QB have such high highs and low lows he had. Even in just 1 game

Definitely boom or bust at times but I think that was partially because it was a new system and he didnt have the spring to get used to Kiffin and Lebby and how they operate.
He had 6 against Arkansas and 5 against LSU. The remaining games he only had 3 total, including 6 games throwing 0 INTs including the bama game where he was on fire. I think part of that was a product of the defense being so bad he felt like he had to score every drive or they would lose. If the defense improves even slightly I think he will have a phenomenal year.

Did yall keep Lebby?
I remember his name being thrown around for several jobs but didn't play close attention.

We kept him somehow, which was massive. He will be a legit head coach one day. Kiffin definitely runs our offense but Lebby has a ton of input when designing plays, and he has an incredible relationship with Corral and the other guys on offense. If Kiffin were to leave us next year, my #1 candidate would be Lebby.

I agree I could see pressure of performing with a bad defense. But I also think there's a difference in forcing some throws feeling the pressure of scoring vs. flat out terrible decisions.
Examples of - Dang we're down 2 TDs and we need score, let me throw up a 50/50 ball here and there in single coverage as we have to take some calculated chances.
vs.
Fk it, throwing it deep in triple coverage, let's see what happens
Some (most almost) of those INTs against LSU and Arky I saw were just really poor decisions (not really "calculated" risks), and that's definitely what he needs to clean up. He cant just give the ball away like that so easily. IF the other team just makes a better play, so be it, but it's another thing to just throw it up into double/triple coverage or force it into someone who clearly isn't open at all.

Daniels is going to have to prove it against better SEC Teams. He essentially played against all the bottom dwellers last year.

This thread is rare to see these days on the SEC rant. So far, solid discussion and not constant trolling and idiot comments.

On talent, Corral is the best returning QB in the conference, hands-down.
Intelligence and decision-making is another story. That's what holds him back.
