Jermaine Burton took over the Miss St game as a true freshman got 8 catches and 197 yards (2 TDs). He is a better overall receiver than pickens (not better on 50/50s).

I know Pickens was a little disappointing last season but come on, Burton disappeared by the end of the year after that MSU game.

8 catches against Miss St.
9 catches in the final 3 games.
Who the frick are you to call that "disappeared"? We blew out scar and mizzou because of his 8 catches in the first halves.
The Cincinatti gameplan was designed to highlight the TEs (9 targets) and RBs (7 targets) and deep shots (10 targets to pickens). We tried to get the ball deep to Burton but pass rush got us several times (4 sacks in addition to several other pressures)

And MSU was playing freaking walk ons in the secondary that game. They had what like 40 something scholarship players total in that game? That's the only game Burton really showed out in as well the whole season.

He was a true freshman with no spring football. He was learning the offense (and making mistakes the first few weeks). Watch footage of Burton against Bama. He is elite at creating separation against man coverage.

As for the Miss St game. He didnt "go off" because of their personnel. He had a huge day because Miss St refused to allow us to run and committes bodies to the line of scrimmage. The hole in their defense was deep shots and we took advantage for a big day through the air. Cincinatti attempted the same thing. Continuous stunts and run blitzes at the LOS leaving one on ones all over the field when our pass pro held up.

Obviously Bammers are high on Bryce Young and with good reason, lot of question marks about new faces along the offensive line, receiver, and at OC.
we are returning meal, editor, and Owens on the online and have insane talent from recruiting, I don't have concerns about the online. And why would anyone have concerns about bill obrien as OC? Only real question to me is who's going to step up at wr, but again there's is an insane amount of talent available.

I think it’s the two Mississippi guys. Will Rogers isn’t as talented as Corral, but he’ll put up the numbers in his 2nd year in the system.

Mizzou's Bazelak is clearly in the top 14.

LSU is enthusiastic about Brennan and/or Johnson but the receiver group right now is basically Boutte and a bunch of guys. Lots of questions about the offensive line and a first time playcaller.
Jake Peetz and D.J.Mangas have a lot of experience and are LSU all-time Offensive god Joe Brady disciples, so I don't think there will be an Offensive problem.

WR's will be more productive in 2021 being coached by Mangas too.

The only 2021 question mark is DEFENSE.......

I'm pretty sure 0% of people outside of UGA fans think UGA has the best receiving corps in the SEC next year without their best receiver in Pickens.

I get there's a lot of unproven guys as so many talented guys are leaving, but without Pickens there's nothing really that special about UGA's corps.

I'm sure more than 0% of people outside of UGA thinks they have the best receiving corps in the SEC. The only argument that can be made is Bama's incoming 2021 receiving corps. No other school in the SEC have this kind of talent for 2021. These are the returning UGA players with experience.

WR
Demetris Robertson 5* .9905
Dominick Blaylock 4* .9831
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint 4* .9734
Arian Smith 4* .9722
Jermaine Burton 4* .9656
Kearis Jackson 4* .9451

TE
Darnell Washington 5* - 6'7.5 .9893
John FitzPatrick 4* - 6'7 .8974

This is the correct answer. They could be good, but experience is one thing they definitely don't have. Peetz has never actually called an offense before

14 interceptions was a lot for an 11 game season although at least 5 of them came in one game.

He threw 11 in two games I think. He only three 3 total in the other nine. fricking weird.

JT Daniels will likely be very good and progress as a player, but not as good as he could with George Pickens out wide.

Matt Corrall with another season under Lane Kiffin will help. He just keeps getting better.

I assume Bryce Young will be pretty good, but I don’t view BOB as an elite offensive mastermind like Steve Sark and even though Alabama typically replaces offensive skill position talent, it won’t be as good as what Tua and Mac Jones had to play with. OL remains elite, though.

I expect Bo Nix to improve. He’s in a real offense with better coaching. The problem is Auburn’s OL is still subpar, the WR position is young and the playcalling could be meh. Having Tank Bigsby in the backfield will only help, though.

Corral will obviously put up big numbers in that offense, but needs to cut down on the mistakes. Way too many interceptions last year.

Daniels had a better passer rating than Corral over four games, but three of those games were against weak teams and he struggled versus Cincinnati in the bowl game. I bet Daniels makes some big strides in the offseason, though, and my money is on him as the top passer in the league.

Brennan is a dark horse. He's got the arm talent, and he put up big yards and TD numbers LSU's first few games. But he's got to improve on efficiency and learn how to score when it counts. Left some points on the field in two winnable games. Obviously, he's got to beat out Johnson and Finley, but I think he is basically doing that in Spring practice.

Bryce Young is another dark horse. I don't think you can sleep on him -- tons of talent there. We didn't get to see much of him last year, but I would not be surprised at all if he emerges as the league's best passer. Probably the most talented QB in the league, but he'll need to convert potential into production.

Conner Balezak and Ken Seals are both really good players who would be getting a lot more attention if they played on better teams. I would not be surprised if both of these guys end up getting drafted 2-3 years down the line. But you won't be hearing their names very often and they won't win any awards.

I am not at all sold on Bo Nix, Will Rogers, Luke Doty, or Emory Jones. Those guys are serviceable at best, and maybe not even. Of anyone, I guess Jones has some potential to develop into an effective dual threat.

No Nix has a great arm and is very fast, he just needs some coaching and a system that allows him to find open receivers.

I’m sorry. Didn’t Connor Bazelak beat LSU and Brennan?

I suppose Connor Bazelak should be your dark horse while Brennan should be mentioned with Seals as someone who would get more attention if they played on a better team bud.
