Here are some interesting names I was thinking:

Steve Spurrier (can you imagine the debates?)
Pat Dye (how is his health?)
Joe Alleva
Robert Khayat (I love this guy - former chancellor of Ole Miss and kicker for Ole Miss years ago)

Thinking about it more, I don't think there's a better candidate in the country than Robert Khayat. You couldn't have put him on when Archie Manning was already there, but now that he is gone Khayat makes perfect sense.

I thought of Stallings and he would be great. He is getting up in age, though. Now that A&M is in the SEC, he would have strong ties to two programs.

I'll agree with selecting Spurrier if y'all agree to selecting Fulmer (who actually would be a good representative despite Bammer's issues with him). As entertaining as he can sometimes be, Spurrier is too mercurial and can be incredibly petty.

Spurrier is petty and controversial.
Fulmer is just a complete scumbag. I would never support Fulmer for anything. And that's not just about Bama, it's also about the way he got the HC job in the first place behind the back of Johnny Majors.

Unless a conference can have more than 1, this won't happen until Jeff Long is not on the committee, or Long moves to a school out of the conference.

Pat Dye? After the Condi shite? Would never happen.

Spurrier is good.

Also Stallings.

Maybe RC Slocum.

I wish Foley would do it, but he's turned it down when asked.
