This NIT run is going to be precious
Probably too soon to even be thinking about either .
re: What's your beverage of choice on gameday?

Bloody Marys for an early game.
Scotch for later.
I wish I could afford a single malt scotch.

re: Will Bert get above .500 after this year?

Since his record is 86-44 I do think he will remain above .500 after this year.
re: Will Kentucky finally make a bowl this year?

Don't know if they will make a bowl game, but I hope they do.

quote:Are there Kentucky FOOTBALL fans?
Football media days start tomorrow and the Kentucky fan wants to talk basketball.
I used to play golf with a fellow that always wore a Kentucky cap. It was football season and I asked him something about the KY football team, and his reply was, "I just follow Kentucky basketball".

I still remember the Tulsa loss in the 70's when Steve Cox kicked 3 field goals to beat the Hogs 9-3. Almost had the feeling of the Citadel game.
re: Bert responds to Michigan running away from their series

I don't see this as anything but wanting to have the ND series active again.
I hate to see anyone not uphold their end of a contract. It is a shame the buyout was not even bigger.
A few years back, Missouri backed out of a game against Iowa and replaced it with Arkansas St for an easy win. The buyout was not more than 100K-200K and left Iowa scrambling for a replacement game. This was done to add a win and replace a likely loss. Much different story.

quote:That is one of the things I hate about going to a game in person. But a trip to Lambeau should make it worth it.
I will be in Green Bay, partying my face off. Sad that I will miss most of these great games but 20x more excited LSU will be playing in such a historic venue and that I will be there for it!
re: Bruce Pearl quietly racking up

Pearl is a coach I would love to see at Arkansas.
re: It has been ____ Days since your program's last national title.
Posted by RazorHawk on 6/28/16 at 6:41 pm
Unfortunately for the Hogs, IMO Football, Basketball and maybe Baseball are the only sports to really get excited about.
While winning numerous Track & Field titles is nice, it compares with Iowa winning Wrestling Natl Championships.

re: What if Saban never left LSU
Posted by RazorHawk on 6/25/16 at 4:15 pm
I think he would have had less success than he has had at Bama, but LSU would have had more success than they have had under Miles.
And I like Miles as a coach.

re: Question on Petrino for Arky fans
Posted by RazorHawk on 6/23/16 at 1:59 pm
quote:This is pretty much it. The timing of his firing, left few options for hiring a coach and thus J L Smith was hired. Two years of no recruiting did leave the program in a bad spot.
Most Hawg fans attribute the "dumpster fire" to Bert following the Jawnell debacle and Bobby's lack of recruiting, not that he was an awful coach. Petrino's a dick but so are many other really good coaches. He just couldn't keep is dick out of the strange, he laid down the Harley, lied to his boss and it cost him his job.
I did not want Petrino to be fired, and wish they could have worked things out. Petrino was/is a jerk, but as someone else stated, this is often the truth with good coaches.
I do think Bielema will, long term, be better for Arkansas football than Petrino would have been.

How long can Bielema supporters use this excuse? This year he should have all of his own guys on the team.

I could have sworn they outlawed these 'check in' threads multiple times. Make it stop.
re: Fact of the day: SEC BASEBALL WAY OVERRATED!
Posted by RazorHawk on 6/13/16 at 12:10 pm
quote:Exactly. The ACC had a similar lack of success.
Fact of the day: baseball, especially a 3 game series can go any way. Next weekend they could have been complete opposite. This weekend they weren't which is what matters but baseball is a tough game to have a 3 game series cost you a trip to a World Series berth.
re: Funny to see Arky fans posting...

Being an Arkansas fan and Iowa fan, I do follow track and field and wrestling.
Quite honestly, not sure I would be following those sports.
Also, I suspect if Bama was winning track and field national championships, there would be many Bama track and field fans.

They have no teams in action this time of year. Funny little piggies.
OK, so as soon as all the SEC teams are eliminated in the NCAA baseball tournament, there should be no posts until early September?
re: Auburn should be in the SEC East.

If competitive balance is the main issue, it would probably mean realignment every so often as the powers do shift.
I think preserving rivalries and geography should be a priority before balance.

Just wish our success was in Football or Basketball though.
Better than no success in anything.
I figured this was another flame thread. :)
Thanks for the congratulations.

Can't believe this has gotten to page 4 and no mention Houston Dale Nutt, or Gus "I too can preach" Malzahn.
Whomever, posted Urban Meyer is correct and he may be at the top, but certainly on the list.
