It is not Texas, and not just saying that because I am an Aggie. They have barely survived some weak competition. They did take advantage of Bama before Milroe found his footing. If they played now, Bama would win by 2 TDs, or more.

I think it’s between Oregon and Bama. Bama is playing much better than Texas right now, but head to head has to matter.

They beat Alabama on the road convincingly. They’re the best one loss team.

It's almost like some teams get better over the course of the season...

Texas has the “best resume” among the 3, but is undoubtedly playing worse than both of those teams right now

So by your logic since Texas beat Alabama in Bryant Denny early in the season it shouldn’t matter? Alabama looks better now so they should be ahead of Texas?

Agreed. Texas looked impressive early in the year but I don't think they are playoff caliber right now. Oregon and Bama both look very impressive imo

The question was who is the best 1 loss team. Right now it is not Texas.

Yes teams evolve as the season progresses. Right now I’d take Bama at Texas or at Bama or on a neutral field. Bama is not close to the same team they were in the second game of the year. Texas has regressed and Bama has progressed that is obvious to anyone. Bama has a much better resume and IF they beat Georgia would definitely have the best resume and will be in playoffs. Hell that’s lsu exact argument for 2007.

I Kige this. Oregon looks “different” this year… more physical. Right now I’d definitely take them over Texas. Bama would be a closer call. Texas seems to be sarking but the big 12 isn’t good enough to take advantage. The Iowa St. game is one that everyone should circle though.
