Easily Orgeron. He has a criminal record, failed at a lesser SEC school, hasn’t risen above a position coach, and still landed the LSU job. Unreal

lol @ LSU fans mentioning Saban when they lost TWICE to teams that finish unranked in 07 and still got to play for it all.

I could support this idea. Obviously the man is a great coach, but many of his championships were won because some other team suffered an inexplicable loss:
He also had bad luck in missing 1000 FGs vs LSU in 2011 and AU in 2013. He also lost the NC game in 2016 season with 1 sec left. Bama could easily have had 7 NCs in the past 9 years.

Anytime someone does not go undefeated (9 of the last 12 NCs), they needed other P5 teams to lose to make the BCS or playoff. In reality, most teams that go undefeated had some great luck during their own season - see AU 2010. They won 5 games by 3 pts or less and 2 more by 1 TD. They could have easily lost each and should have lost a couple or a few. But they still deserved their NC. Good and bad fortune are part of life.

Philip fulmer...Had weinke been healthy in the title game. Tenn would have no titles since the 50s. Spurrier owned him most of the time

Saban. The only coach that can publicly cheat (did the whole Ole Miss from trash with no up side to riches but without the probation), has refs moving balls for him, has backdoored his way into 2 NCs, and never plays more than one or 2 good teams a year to get to a NC game.

To this shitty post I would just like to re-enter my response from yesterday:

You’re really having a tough time with this thread, aren’t you buddy? And for the love of god, why must you edit every piss poor Bama obsessive post you make?

I’m being serious here as I’m just going off of what I see without looking over your full history: do you do anything else on here other than obsess over Bama, create shitty posts, and then edit trying desperately to make them less shitty?

Since 1936 only one coach has won a national title without winning his conference

Wrong.[/quote]
Every Notre Dame NC has been won without being a conference champion. Pretty sure that BYU was an independent when they won. Army or Navy has won a NC back in the day, no conference affiliation.

There's no possible other answer than Gene Chizik.

les miles would be a great answer if 2011 didn’t happen....

I would say his bad luck cancelled out his good fortunes from 2007 there

Gus Malzahn...in the 2013 season alone it took a blatant horse collar no call, a fluke hail marry, and a fluke kick six to win 3 games in one season. Gus saved his job because lsu decided to snap the ball after the clock hit 0:00

UT was without their best player in Jamal Lewis and had a first time playcaller in Randy Sanders calling plays since Cutcliffe left before that game.

Malzahn has been luckier than chizik. 2013 was the damndest thing I ever saw. Missed OBVIOUS horse collar on JFF, Georgia, Bama games. The gods would just hand them games.
