Way too early to tell but Lock is already winning in the NFL

With a QBR of 48.3, which is sixth worst in the league.

Burrow doesn't have to go far to be better than that.

Should be some good hot takes in this thread.

If Burrow goes to Cinci he's screwed.

Lock is already winning games in Denver.

Burrow could be the next Haskins

Why does it matter? Burrow had the better collegiate career by far and won a natty for LSU. Mizzou fans would trade Lock's lack of NFL success for that in a heart beat.

Unless Burrow goes to a shitty organization who won’t get him an O line and weapons, he’s going to wreck the NFL.

I would think Burrow...but I remember how the NFL chewed up Bert Jones and Archie Manning...a great QB can't overcome bad protection. Hopefully, whoever takes him first will surround him with a competent supporting cast.

Honestly, probably Lock because Denver's FO has shown an ability to construct a winning team
But Cincy has produced 5 pro bowl qb seasons in the last 10 or so years.....

They arent the best franchise, but they havent been a qb graveyard at all. Their last two qbs have both made multiple pro bowls

You'll get destroyed for posting this on an LSU board, but it's not totally outlandish.

Lock managed to throw 44 TD's (SEC record at the time) in 13 games. Also, compare the OL and WR talent that Lock had around him (2-3* recruits) with the OL and WR that Burrow had to work with (mostly 5* recruits).

It will be interesting to see how they both perform in the NFL where the surrounding talent gap is lesser.

Burrow just had the best season ever for a college QB, but we need to pump the breaks a bit.

He ran an NFL offense against college defenses with several future NFL players on LSU's roster. He will have outlandish expectations thrown his way. Will the pressure to be the next Tom Brady/Joe Montana get to him? Can he run an NFL offense against NFL defenses? Can he perform when the talent is not stacked in his favor?

Certainly everything he has done at LSU says he can do it, but its no guarantee and he for sure has a ton to prove.

Are they not both NFL QBs?

Who else would you compare Burrow with?

He's never played a snap in the NFL, unless you're already saying he will be the next Peyton Manning simply because he had a single good college season?

I’d start with other Heisman winning QBs and slowly work my way down to scrubs who threw for 44 TDs while going 0-6 against teams with winning records with only 11 TD passes in said 6 games.

^^^That would be when we start comparing him to the likes of Drew Lock.

Where did Aaron Rodgers go to college?

You know this thing called a "team" right?

Ah. It was the teams fault that Lock could only perform at a high level against the teams with losing records.

Got it.

ETA: Lets not forget that LSU is only an eight win team without Burrow.

but college success doesn't always translate to NFL success.

so does that apply to Lock too? He was seemingly very successful in college. He threw for 1000 yards in 5 games in the NFL this year with 3 picks and 7 TDs and 6.5 YPA. Seems pretty average to below average to me

With an OLine that is pure trash

Show the stats of the previous QB and his record before Lock took over.
