Thinking about who might be potential big names on the coaching market after this year that may not be house hold names currently. Could be head coaches at g5 level or assistants who could pop. I’ll start with G J kinne. Head coach at Texas state, and had nfl experience. Supposed to be a really good qb coach and has had some success at a historical doormat at the fbs level.

He almost did this offseason. I believe he will make someone a fine coach.

Not any Assistant Coaches at Missouri. If they had anyone worth a frick LSU would just hire them away like last time.

It’s always very difficult to project on which asst. coach or he’d coach from a small program will be a home run hire.

For every Kirby Smart there is a Tom Herman.

For every Chris Petersen there is a Brian Hartsin

For every Sonny Dykes there’s a Chad Morris.

Coaching hires are just a crapshoot really.

Lincoln Riley was 55-10 at Oklahoma, he's 26-14 at USC.

Jimbo was 83-23 at Florida State and won a natty, then he was 45-25 at A&M and couldn't even win his division.

Maybe the right fit really does matter. At least up to a point.

I think it does, in how the coach fits in within the structure of the athletic department.

I don't think it matters where the coach is from or what his background is though.

I thought he got demoted when you all hired Chip Kelly.

There’s an offensive assistant for Arkansas who’s shown some high potential. Good with X’s and O’s and adaptable to personnel. Bob Petrino I think his name is.

Jon Sumrall at Tulane is definitely a coach to keep an eye on.

There aren't any. Just a bunch of retreads and move-arounds that will never really amount to anymore than they are now. Some are decent at best, but they'll never be elite. Fran Brown probably will do pretty good at Syracuse, but can't think of too many more.

Great call, though I don't know if he'd be a fit in Fayetteville. I hope I'm not speaking it into existence, but I think if LSU's defense performs at an elite level this season, Blake Baker will get some looks. I also think Willie Fritz will get looks if UH exceeds expectations, because it'll mean he's done it at two schools that were sub .500 when he took over. I don't know that he'd jump after only 3 seasons, but money and a nice spread in the Ozarks may convince him.

He was supposed to go to Tulane but some east cost school got someone else instead. Might have been NC. I thought it was a done deal b/c the Tulane coach did the wolf of Wall Street meme same way that jackass did but then he actually meant it.
