Teams going to Tx will play on their artificial grass turf
Our AD has said on Twitter that we're moving to grass after the practice facility upgrades. Don't know when that is but I'd guess in 2-3 years.

Double irony: the turf replaced Bermuda.

horns play on French made turf. Not american turf.

I think Kentucky switched to turf within the last few years and Vanderbilt did as well. Pretty sure during the James Franklin era they played on grass.

Saw something about them placing artificial on the sidelines and behind the endzones. Would install sod in area for kickers to warm up.
LSU went to this a few years ago I believe.

State’s field is like a putting green.
This. Our whole crew involved with the engineering of the grass makes for an awesome product. Same for our baseball field.

LSU uses celebration bermuda. Similar grasses, both being bermuda hybrids, but celebration is better suited for the Louisiana climate
The grass was developed by a company in South Carolina, and they partner with the University of Florida to aid in research and development of new turf strains.

Spurrier "mandated" turf be installed at Florida Field before the start of the 1990 season. The current iteration is a grass developed by UF Turn Sciences. I think the field is renewed on a 6 year average.

Any talk of changing the Disch to grass?
quote:That was mostly from when the stadium opened in the 70s and shortly after when astroturf was more popular (talking about the hard-packed, feels like concrete astroturf).

I think it also served as a home field advantage many times because balls would bounce way higher after landing than on a normal field. They did away with that before the 2008 or 2009 season and installed the current field turf, which has never looked good, but at least helped in getting games in while it's raining.
Most Texas fans agree today that turf sucks and want natural playing surfaces. Especially the football field.

LSU only uses Kentucky blue hemp super turf and nothing else.

Texas would cancel football games on grass field after a rain?
You aren't talking about baseball? You are referencing getting in football games after a rain?

This is ironic, I remember the days when Mizzou had grass, and every time OU and its wishbone offense would play there, they would have grown the grass as much as possible. There were times where you couldn't see the players shoes. Then they went to plastic in the mid '80's I think.

That MSU turf is very impressive. Have always enjoyed trips to Starkville.

Dang that's another Ok St grass I think. We should have invited them into SEC instead of OU.
We would gladly make deal to be the official supplier of grass to the SEC for an invite.

The brown grass of Commonwealth always seemed odd when we would play there in November.
