I don't know but its probably a bunch.....prime habitat. Used to be some pretty good duck hunting in the general area as well....
The actual "island" may politically be in Georgia....the Dead River is most assuredly in Georgia but Oxbows on the Savannah are strange animals....seems like every other one belongs Georgia and the next one is SC.....probably about as fair as anyway to divide them because the river don't care and may change any minute....

Very dynamic river and coast line.
I used to vacation at Harbor Island and the island could lose a football field worth of sand over a month.
