Where did the Alabama basketball arrogance come from?

They all of a sudden expect to be a premier, no doubt tournament team every year or fire their coach. Historically they are one of the least prestigious basketball programs in the SEC.

Actually, Alabama is behind only Kentucky in SEC tournament titles.

Historically only behind Kentucky in wins and tournament titles in the SEC. Third in regular season titles. But because the last 15 years have been so horrid, people have forgotten how consistent Alabama once was.

No, no. You misunderstand. LSU has a right with their three more regular season titles and one more NCAA tournament appearance. And of course they’ve made it to a Final Four that one time.
But nevermind it is Kentucky (and maybe Arkansas and Florida) and then a bunch of programs that can argue over third or fourth. All similar program history resumes. But laugh at Alabama for expecting some measure of consistency at a sport they spend millions on.

It would be like LSU laughing at Georgia for wanting more success in football. When both are very good programs historically, with only LSU having the more recent national title success.

There are 64 teams in the tournament. It’s not too much to ask to be one of the 64 teams. Plus Alabama had 92% of making the dance a short while back, now they’re likely out of it. A late season collapse reflects pretty bad on a coach. It’s obvious this team has the talent but Avery is a mediocre game day coach.

No they’re not even close to the least prestigious in the SEC. If this was the Big 10 than yes but SEC only has one historically impressive team to begin with.

We've been to 1 NCAA Tournament in 12 years and given each coach at least 3 years of not making the tournament.
