For Alabama the answer is this past Saturday, May 24th, 2026. They swept a mid-tier softball team to advance to the WCWS.

National championship game less than a year ago. Eliminated several teams recently but last was Coastal Carolina.

Sunday. State softball eliminated Oklahoma. We also shut them out for the first time since 2019

That isn't that rare if you have a basketball team in the tourney. 32 teams do it every year.

What?? LSU made it to the sweet sixteen this year in basketball, by beating Texas Tech on 3/22/2026 in the round of 32. Not to mention LSU has numerous women's basketball tournament wins since winning the natty in the '22-'23 season. Once again, you are wrong.
You were talking ab softball in the OP, women's college basketball is definitely valid here.

By your logic softball is just women’s baseball. Next time an LSU fan talks about the college world series I will remind them that Alabama has made it four of the past six seasons.

nope. LSU Softball eliminated a couple teams in the regional. only a week before they were eliminated in super regional.

These leagues/tournaments are differentiated between mens and womens in the title by stating "mens" and "womens". You did not. One would easily infer you were referring to both men's and womens tournaments, while choosing to only acknowledge LSU's embarrassment of a men's basketball team and ignoring our much better women's basketball team as a dig to make LSU look bad. But you wouldn't do that, would you?

By all means, go ahead and claim what you want about Alabama. Just know when LSU fans talk about a CWS, they are likely referencing recent national championships. You will be only talking about recent appearances.
