Alabama, Georgia, and A&M were probably the three best teams in the country that year.

A team that gets blown out 35-7 is not one of the three best teams in the country

I thought Arkansas was one of the three best in 2011 and they got blown out twice

There werent any SEC games in the OP, that was pretty clear.

And you went back to 1950 and 1934.

In 2012 you'd have a hard time making a Top 10 if you disqualified anyone who got blown out

- Georgia lost by 28 to South Carolina
- Notre Dame lost by 28 to Alabama
- Kansas State lost by 28 to Baylor and 18 to Oregon
- South Carolina lost by 33 to Florida
- Florida lost by 10 to Louisville (it was much uglier than 10)

Alabama has a 2 game losing streak to La Tech in 1997 and 1999.

The OP doesn't exclude conference games. Most examples given are out of conference, because non-Power 5 losses are very embarrassing. I contend that certain conference losses are just as embarrassing. Feel free to disagree.

Only time I remember an Alabama team quiting.
For me that's the worst.

Jacksonville State was painful to watch. Knew immediately that Nutt's days were numbered

I'd like to make an argument against Citadel in that they were a pretty damn good team for their level and a triple option team. Triple option teams are ALWAYS headaches.

This however does not excuse the shitty loss. Just pointing towards someone else as most embarrassing coughmainecough

They were definitely not in the top 3 when the season was over, they were a 5-10 team though.

Worst in recent memory for me was UCF beating Tubbs. I believe it was in JHS as well

ETA: Outside of any 2012 game

9-6

Bama was at least 21 points better than that team.
