That was USF he lost to in 2007. They ended up being ranked #2 at some point in the season, but that was little consolation.

USF also beat a great West Virginia team that season. They were just about as good as anyone over the first half of that season before fading down the stretch

Leavitt was a great coach who built a good program from scratch. Who knows what he'd be doing right now if he hadn't slugged that kid. Think I remember hearing he was back in college as a DC.

Auburn beat Alabama 94-40 in basketball in 1998. I will never forget the score, because a drunk Auburn fan kept screaming it over and over during the Iron Bowl later that year. Alabama came back and won the Iron Bowl and the dude eventually left, but I still hear that score in my nightmares.

Arkansas losing to Toledo was absolutely befuddling to me. I thought Arkansas was a legit top 10 team at that point.

I was covering this game, it qualifies easily.

Memphis D was ok. Had a little talent. O was horrendous.

UT had Peyton Manning at QB. Memphis had never beaten UT in football. All the other suggestions fall under this one IMO

There's a Tennessee license plate hanging in the Commissary in Germantown with the score on it.

I think our loss to UCF in 2000 was worse than ULM because they had just made the jump to FBS.

I think Memphis went 3-8 and UTjr's only other loss was by 6 to Florida.

Things are so competitive in the SEC that everyone wants to win the biggest loser competition.

In 1986 LSU beat Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M...

...but lost to Miami.

...of Ohio.

We beat UF twice in 99 and won the SEC but lost to Louisiana Tech.

Yeah? Well, LSU beat defending champions and unbeaten Alabama in 1993...

...and lost to pretty much everybody else.

Wait, I think that one's yours.

That was a really good NIU team and a terrible Alabama one.

NIU had Michael Turner and had already beaten Maryland (10-3, 6-2) on the road. They went 10-2. We were awful.
